Well I broke down and bought a helix 7 DI for my boat. I've used down imaging before but it was the old school black and grey this is my first color set up. With that said. I'm having a hard time getting the helix 7 adjusted to get clear distinct readings. I idled around yesterday for around 4 hours just trying to get it set up but I could t ever get the 2d sonar or the DI set up to give me clear readings. It was all blurry and no clean nice arches like you see on everyone else's graphs. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Will do. Going out multiple times after work this week and gonna dedicate the time to working with it. And Friday I have a buddy who is proficient with hummingbird gonna take me out and help me get it dialed in. I'll pass along. What I learn/figure out.

usually its location of the tranducer and how it's mounted that causes interference. The settings you fiddle with should only take a couple tries to figure out. Fish are flat lines sitting still and arches on 2d sonar when moving 4-5 mph or less. They should look like golf balls on 3D down image when idling. Flat or slightly curved lines again when sitting still

Install is the main thing. Location of transducer like ^ he said and then the gauge wire used to connect the power and a good solid connection. It shouldn't take long at all to adjust the settings they are close when taking out of the box just have to tune it a little. Here are some good examples from basswhacker of what bass will look like

Thanks ive done some more research and adjusted the original installation position of the transducer. And being a new guy to all this I had it connected to the trolling motor and didn't know I would get interference. So I moved it to the cranking battery. I'm going tomorrow after work if the weather stays clear and see if those adjustments made a difference. Thanks ms or all the help fellas.
