Well all I can is that we are defiantly experiencing the usual slow fishing expected each year in September. Yesterday was terrible! Ronnie and I left out of CFP and went up river to our first spot. On about the second or third cast Ronnie catches our first small keeper on a chatter bait. Shortly after that he catches another small keeper. Meanwhile I was throwing a big Bull Worm in the edges of the grass trying to get that big bite and I missed three fish? They would hit the worm but then they just were not there? ! We moved around working our way back down toward the Park and hit several other places. We threw everything, worms, jigs, top water baits, buzz baits, frogs, shakey heads, and punch baits with no luck. I think Ronnie caught five fish all day all on the chatter bait and I caught four on the Bull worm. We weighed in our three pitiful little fish and had just under 7 lbs. The most exciting thing that happened to us all day was when all of a sudden Ronnie yelled out this is a bigg'in get the net! And it was. A big 'ol Drum had inhaled his chatter bait. We saw a lot of fish around the banks in one or two feet of water chasing minnows but we never could get them to bite? Congrats to Mark and his partner on a tough day!
