Ronnie and I had a great game plan laid out as to where we wanted to start and the baits to throw. And we stayed with it the most of the day to no avail. We were stubborn but so were the Bass! Ronnie was going to concentrate on throwing a Rig and I was going to stick with a jerk bait, a Silver Buddy and Traps. I had one bite all day long on the Silver Buddy and it was a big 'ol Drum. Ronnie had one bite later in the afternoon on a shakey head worm. He thought he was hung up when suddenly he felt the fish pull back and then was gone. As the day went on and still with no success we did add to our attack arsenal chatter baits, jigs, crank baits all in a variety of sizes and colors just trying to get a bite. We fished from about 2 fow out to about 18 fow. We fished flats, points, coves, and some drops all with no luck. The water temp was around 42 - 43 degrees. Finally we packed up and licked our wounds, swallowed our pride and limped in for the weigh in sadly with no fish. So hopefully better luck next time. Congrats to the winners Todd Driver and Harley Grant with an impressive three fish sack weighing in at 17.63 lbs. They had two over 7 lbs.
