Ronnie and i ran up river to some shallow grass and starting fishing really just waiting for it to get dark. We fished about 45 minutes for nothing. Finally Ronnie picked up a buzz bait and a keeper jumped on it! We moved to another spot and was just about to vacate that spot when I awkwardly and haphazardly made a cast out in no where's land. In the middle of nothing! Bam! A fish liked to have taken my rod away from me ... and i missed it! We sat there in one little spot no bigger then boat and got bit cast after cast for about 30 minutes. Some we caught and some we missed. The fish either tried to take the worm away from you or you really never felt the bite. The worm just got slightly heavy. Ronnie using his spinning rod and little short worm had me down 6 to 1 at one time. But we had three small keepers all in about 30 minutes. It finally got dark and we switched to spinner baits and we moved on to more shallow grass. We hopped around and fished 8 different spots and it poured down rain in between each spot! I think we caught 16 or 17 fish but only 6 were keepers. Our small fish weighed in at just under 9 lbs. and we wound up in 4th place I think. Congrats to Billy and Steven on the win and big fish!
