Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

Eric Clark and I will be checking boats so please do not have any other lures in your boat besides hollow body frogs. You will be asked to put everything else in your vehicle which will be a hassle. Dont make us be the bad guys.We want everyone in the tx to feel warm and fuzzy inside about an even playing field.

I'll be really honest. I have fished down there twice this week and yes there is a frog bite, but there arent too many places to really get on a good frog bite. I dont want a bunch of people to show up and only 1 person catch a fish. The weather has really messed things up. I'm not canceling the tournament yet. But, if the grass doesnt shape up there will be no point in having a frog only tournament. I will give an update by Wed.

I saw a thousand places to fish a frog today.

I did also... emoRolleyes ...Maybe it is that your fish just did not bite Chris... emoTongue Jmax

Must have bit some, finished ahead of you Saturday. :) j/k. I just want people to have fun and not suffer all day. Now they are calling for 27 mph winds saturday. Awesome !!! :)

That would mess up a frog bite for sure. 27 MPH winds would be white caps and rough water which would not be inviting for a frog bite. emoDoh

Yea...you and Ramjack got us..I admit. But not by much and I had not been down there in about four months. I was happy with what we showed. I was feeling better prepared for this one. emoZipped Not good to have to scout and fish all the same day. Your call for sure, if it is that bad I may pass myself anyways. emoRain Jmax

I love fishing a frog as much as anyone but there is a lack of good mats. Plenty of grass everywhere, but not a lot of good "frog" mats. heavy rains and high winds will bust up the mats worse than anything. The mats are behind anyway b/c of spring rains and a lot of wind this summer-guntersville has been behind as well. That being said, I may pass on this one.

You can't predict what will happen on any given day but, in general, the frog fishing on the lower end of Nickajack is pitiful this year when compared to last year. Lots of spraying and virtually no mats, depending on water level. Fish seem to tryand knock the frog away instead of inhaling it and the bigger bass are much harder to find. Don't know about up river.

Imay pass on this one too.

Just have a regular tournament.

I second that motion. emoThumbsup Just have a regular tournament and then if there is grass then fine, fish a frog and if there is not use whatever you prefer. emoTongue Jmax

Ill keep checking the weather, if the conditions dont change from what is predicted, we can just do a normal tournament. I would just like to get an idea of how many boats would show .

Im sorta leaning towards the Crappie Tx now for Toy for Tots. Wayne and I were dropping out of the all frog thing since we both didnt see the point on slinging a frog at soup mats all day without a bite..LOL.

Keep us updated Chris..if you change it to a regular TX...we may still fish it but I would have to check with HL&S.
