Here are the ground rules. To be able to participate you will have needed to have posted 2 fishing reports on CFF. It's that simple! The size limits will be Largemouth- 15 inches, smallmouth- 18 inches, spots- 12 inches. Entry fees will be 25 dollars per boat ( that includes big fish), except on the dogfights ( July and August tournaments) then the fee will be 15 per boat ( also includes big fish). There will be a waiver each person will have to sign. No more than 2 anglers per boat, locking through in allowed.
I want to stress, that this is more for fun and fellowship. If there is less than 10 boats entered, then the that tournament will be canceled. So I will need people signed up around a week in advance of each tournament. Here are the dates and lakes to this point. Pm me if you have any questions, I'll answer every one I get.

2-23 ( Guntersville, Mudd Creek) This tournament will be run by BPrice and 2jigs
3-22 (Nickajack-Shellmound)
4-12 ( Chickamauga-Chesterfrost Park)
5-No tournament
6-7 (Chickamauga - Harrison Bay) NIGHT TOURNAMENT
7-12 (Nickajack-Sullivan's) DOGFIGHT 6-11 am
8-23 ( Chickamauga- Chesterfrost) DOGFIGHT 6-11am
9-13 (NIckajack-Shellmound)
10-11 (Guntersville-Mid lake somewhere)
11-8 ( Nickajack-Sullivan's)
12-6 ( Chickamauga-Chesterfrost Park)

Fishinvol, I see where you have Shellmound down for the 3/22 TX.....just thought I would bring this up in case it could be a problem. The parking lot down there has several hundred floating docks on it that are ready to be installed as part of Thunder Thortons Rarity Community. As everyone knows you can still launch from there (and I heard you would be able to until a replacement ramp is complete) but things could get crowded with all these parking lot obstructions. I also heard that the folks doing the work on the marina were ready to get these floating docks in place ASAP so maybe it won't be a problem come 3/22!! Just something to look out for I guess!

Thanks man... I plan on fishing as many these as I can, but as you know $$$ will come into play due to distance.  I'd like to do the first 3 for sure.

Pay out each one. This is the format that is taking the place of the last two years when we had the CFF Tournaments. Due to Liability issues and the forum now having income through sponsors Dhaun had to discontinue the old way it was being done and now they are not sactioned in any way by the CFF. These are completely on an individual bases.Jmax

Exactly right Jmax - One thing I might add is....just like the old days I am still encouraging the use of release forms for all events coordinated on the site and can create them custom for each Individual holding a Tx as needed. Just send me a PM.

since Fishinvol is setting up the trail he might choose to do a point system like the Outlaw Txs, I'm not sure..

Nope, no points. All individual tournaments. Just there to have fun, no need to worry about points.

Keeping up points may help with participation later in the season. All the cash should be handed out at the individual tournaments, and the points winner would have bragging rights or maybe some small prize. Just a suggestion. Either way I am sure I will find my way to some if not all of them! Looking forward to it!

I think it would be fun to have a live bait side. Same Tournament Just an Artificial side and a live bait side. Just to see what the live bait could bring in vs the Artificial. Just a thought.

I think that is a no brainer BigFish. Live bait would be a good option to get younger kids involved. At his age my son has a better chance catching a bass with live bait rather than working a 3/4 jig in 20ft. (this post is not intended to poke fun at live bait fishing either). Set one up and see if anyone is interested. There were a ton of big fish caught using live bait on the Ckick this summer according to this past summers post.

Tounament dates are set I'm just saying lets make this a two part Tournament Live bait fishermen show up and fish. Well put in and weigh in at the same time only difference is that we wont be competing for the same cash that the Arties. are. Live baiters put our money in a different pot. I think more people would turn out for the Tournaments and Certainly the Live bait would alomost bring in bigger fish. Or Maybe Just let us live baiters compete for the big fish pot only. I would love to come and fish Ya'lls TX but I'm not going pay my money and fish for (5) bites all day when I can go and catch 50 to 75 fish using live bait.

I don't have any problem with live baiters (what i am part time) coming in and fishing along side.  If someone is wanting to have a live bait pool, then someone can definately take that upon themselves to coordinate in concert with the already scheduled tournament.  I personally don't want to mix money for big fish pot on the Guntersville TX.

Most TX fisherman look down on live-baiting b/c of the thought of an 8lb bass floating with a hook in the back of its throat and I am scared mixing the two TXs would decrease participation. I dont want to show up with a nice bag of fish to watch all the live baiters weighing in 30lb. bags. I just think that they are two worlds appart. Although, I think a live bait TX is a great way to get kids and those who dont normally fish TXs on the water. But it should be held seperate.

Back to the subject of incorporating a points chase...I was just thinking of ways to attract more anglers. I think the Txs that offer more opportunities to go home with some type of prize or bragging rights usually attract more anglers. Theoretically, a team could go all season without a win but win the points race!?

Obviously there's some mis-understanding. Especially with an 8lb bass with a hook in the back of it's throat floating I guess I am to assume it's from a live bait fisherman. I'm glad Churley can see the future. Now back to getting more folks to participate in fishing and as the trail is so appropriately named getting more kids involved more family involved in fishing. I dont know of many kids that can with stand the rigors of an 8 hr. casting event. I'm not saying those that use artificial bait compete against those that use live bait it would be un-fair to artficial users (gosh I said it) but we have already got those that enjoy the fellowship with one another here on CFF and it would make more sense, since the scales would be set up if those that wanted to fish with live bait compete with those that use live bait, Just trying to get more people to the Tournaments (more family Kids, wives etc). This is the last time I'm posting on this subject Ya or Na!
