After a few days of work ive got a good start on my first rod,, the handle has a lucky nickle set in the end and the end is spliced in a piece of rubberized cork next to a piece of blue burl cork against the rest of the handle in cork, the real seat is a custom seat from mud hole thats a wavy blue when they made it they left the locking ring silver so I went over it with some blue, black and gold marbling to ad to the handle color,,, next i tried my hand at some simple "ya right" weaving by inlaving a gold cross above the handle with a marbled base,, ive got the underwrap done for the rod eyes but not on so thats still to come,,and a last coat of epoxy on the whole thing,,

I like the nickel. I tryed to talk a customer into letting me but a dime on his. He said that he couldn't find a good looking 1961 dime ( his birth year ).
