Dad and I were boat 6 out and were able to go exactly where we wanted to start out first thing. Our idea was to stay in the park and work some areas that we have caught some fish in recently instead of main lake stuff because of the stained water out there. We didn’t boat a fish immediately; but ran that bank for the first hour and caught a couple shorts and got our biggest fish in the 3 pound class on a JB. We were sitting in 10 throwing into shallow water. Made a move to another similar area and caught multiple fish but mostly small throwing lipless CB's. We were able to fulfill our limit there including a spotted bass that probably meant $50 bucks but we knew we’d cull it for more weight. Decided to head out to the main lake and check the water - it was running hard and muddy. Worked an area or 2 for about an hour and went back into the park to look for bigger fish. We were able to cull twice but not a lot of added weight. Just could not get the big girl we needed. Fun day of catching anyway. Most fish were caught on the lipless CB and Dad got a keeper on a jig & crawfish trailer.

Congrats to all that got a check.

Fishing with your dad is always special and you will always remember. My oldest memory was catching a crappie on my fourth birthday, 66 years ago.

Same for us with the lipless...I was very thankful to be catching fish. I am hoping things are going to start lighting up the next couple of weeks.

Started at the same end as you, opposite side. Didn't duplicate your success. You and your dad had a good day, a very respectful sack at weigh in. Way to go.
