did you take any pictures with a cell phone ?the men i fish with on nickajack are as good as there are on that lake!not saying it wasnt found but i like more evidence than a long paragraph on a forum page .if you ever come across another call m c sherifs dept and twra they will handle it .leave them there and go to any local tment offical and i supose some one will watch it THIS IS HOW RUMERS GET STARTED ON CERTAIN INDIVIDULES .not saying you did not find it but there was a better way to handle said situation,

He didn't mention a name unless I missed it so how is he starting a rumor about anyone? If you guys think people on both the Nick and Chick don't cheat, you need to pull your head out of the clouds and realize ANY time money is involved in something competitive there are going to be a few low life pieces of **** that will cheat, I hate to say it that way but....

Ditto Derek. Why would anyone make this up? This is unreal. Money will make people do some awful things. I really hate to hear this

To have Cut a notch in a tail or other fin would have worked out if you knew what TX they were cheating in. That just makes me sick... I used to fish TX all the time. seeing this right under our noses from ash-soles you would never suspect drove me to a hatred for bass tx's. I do not fish them for that very reason... They just re-hid the Basket and I bet it has a new load right now. You know that these creeps have Stolen Thousands from the rightful winners and will continue... I bet they win money every week except for Last week. I bet any Shellmound TX fishermen could figure this out with just this info.

you know the sad thing is they were probably pretty decent fisherment to catch those fish.

Decent fishermen don't have to do that crap to bring 5 good fish to the scales. I'll bet a paycheck whoever did this has a criminal record that includes theft or fraud

u know maybe they were just getting a good mess of fish for a fish fry.lol

Yea, that's what it was and they were just keeping them fresh until they were ready to eat them later. Storing them at the lake. emoCrazy Jmax

Some have asked exactly where it was located. If your leaving the swimming area at shellmound its on your left before you get to the river. There is a house on the right back in there. The basket was in the very back of it. It was actually a dog cage wrapped with mesh or netting. It was completely underwater. He got hung on it and pulled it up with braided line when he was getting his jig loose. I fish two clubs on nick. I hope its not any of those guys. My son and I enjoy fishing with them, but you never know when money is involved!

There was a guy that works at alstom told my brother the same thing that he found one a released all the fish . He even described the boat and one of the guys in it . The small club I fish has a tx out of the ramp next to Hales bar sat morning .The guy he and boat doesnt sound like anyone in our club .But you never can be to sure .I am gonna keep my eyes open and if it was someone new I will make sure they never fish ours again. Of course wuth as many as we have in ours I dont see why anyone would want to cheat anyway .It takes a low life to cheat in any tx . I hope they get caught and not allowed to fish any tx . I know the guys in our club is more like family we just get together to shoot the breeze and have a friendly competition . It is crazy for someone to think they have an upper edge by cheating .If you get caught you have a name for yourself that even acid cant get rid of. Oh and btw i think it was 5/8/2013 I think when he said he found this one not sure but coulda had another one somewhere. This guy seen them messing around and wondered what they were up to after they left they went to where they had been and low and behold there was the basket.

That slough, where the basket was found, gets hammered during almost, if not all TX's fished out of Shellmound. That's where people fish the last 30 minutes or so, hoping for 1 more or a cull before weigh-in . I can't imagine anybody having the opportunity or guts to get fish from the basket, during a Shellmound TX, unless they did it first thing. Was the basket visible from any part of the house? I never thought about a dog crate but we have one and it would be simple, cheap and collapsible. Depending on the size, it could easily be carried, unnoticed in a bass boat. A small to medium crate might even fit in one of the compartments or lockers. I can't figure out how you can fish the back of that slough, without getting hung on it. The mesh, you talked about, sounds like a hook magnet.

Yea, that would take some nerves of steel to try to retrieve it that close to the ramp.
