I fished the better part of daylight hours Friday trying to put a plan together for the cba. It seemed like all I was doing was giving way points to everyone else on the water. Saw several boats running on the other side of the channel from where I was sitting swing over and run by within 75 yards reach up and mark a waypoint as they ran by.
One guy shut down and idled so he could compare his map to my location and mark exactly where I was sitting then zip across the lake and proceed to do the same to the next guy.
Another guy idled a big loop around me then moved on to another guy and did the same.
Saw another idle between 2 boats that were sharing a ledge.
I know there are no secrets on chick but at least try to pretend you're not out there snaking every spot you see a boat on

Some people have no sense of pride anymore. I will pay attention sometimes as to where people are fishing but never would I mark a waypoint just because somebody is sitting on a supposed spot. They may just have no clue like myself so why would I want to copy cat them. And is it really fun if you copy someone else and catch fish? People want things handed to them on a platter lately.

I was fishing Guntersville Saturday found fish early on top water. I made 5 casts had 3 good fish. My boat is in 5 foot of water throwing to the grass edge. Two morons in a bass boat zoom past me on that grass edge where my bait is sitting never caught another fish. There was plenty of room behind me. Just don’t understand the lack of courtesy on the water lately. Two weeks ago on Chickamauga right after blastoff went to my first spot one boat near me the fellow asked if I was fishing a tournament I said yes and he said come on I will get out of your way. I quess one gentleman cancels one moron.

This kind of behavior isn't unique to the Chick and The G. It's everywhere and getting worse, IMHO. In some places in VA the water police are actually ticketing people for reckless driving and for harassing fishermen. Unfortunately there aren't enuff water cops to police up all the brain damage out there.

Jet skis at Savannah Bay ignoring the no wake zone Saturday. I'm on a kayak that won't get on plane to get out of their way. When its like that you can't fish anyway for having to have your head on a swivel.

I know what you mean Jeep. I was idling through the no-wake zone on Wolftever and had another boat pass me creating a fairly large wake. I called out to him to remind him it was a no-wake zone. His only reply was, "I know", and kept on going.

Believe it or not, there was 2 teenage boys in a ski boat and they were the most respectful boys and honestly it was unexpected and appreciated.

This is why most of these guys go somewhere else to fish a tournament on a different lake and get their ass handed to them because they don't know how to find fish other than a pair of binoculars. Technology unfortunately can make people stupid and lazy , if a computer or GPS doesn't tell them exactly where to go they have to do the next best thing pull in on or follow other people.

I act like I'm setting the hook on a big one and fake fight a fish when that happens. You wouldn't imagine the looks I get. People will shut off their boats and watch. it's hilarious I think

Happens all the time. There are spots on the lake that my Dad found 40 years ago using a flasher and a TVA navigation map. We never saw anyone fishing them back in the day when I was a kid. Now you'll be sitting on a good spot and here comes a boat within casting range side scanning and mapping what you are doing. And then inevitably you will hook a fish while they're watching. We usually don't even reel it in unless we are in a tournament....

It seems worse on the lower end of the lake for whatever reason.

That is the way of the lake these days unfortunately. Hope too many people don't want to follow me around to catch 2 pounders...

i was fishing a ledge yesterday, and my buddy and I were catching them pretty good. I havent been to the chick since Christmas because I play baseball for Troy University. So you can imagine I was having a blast. Then some random guy idles 50 yards in front of me then just starts fishing. His boat was sitting on top of the fish we were throwing to. So we just cranked up and left. I wanted to tell that sorry bastard if you have to steal a persons spot to catch a bass then you really don't know the sport of bass fishing. Half the gratification of catching for me is patterning the fish and figuring out what makes em tick. People are just hungry to catch and not willing to work for the bite.

Chickamauga one of the worst lakes for this. Oh I could start a war on here, as most of all of us could. Yea, the good ole days are definitely gone!

I hate to tell them but if they're following me around they're not going to catch anything bigger than a dink.
It's gotten so bad that it's not even the bent pole pattern anymore. It's the boat pattern. It got to the point I'd have a bite, look all around and if there was a boat nearby I'd shake it off. Still had them coming by.
I wish there were more offshore spots up river to get away from some of the bino anglers. Hopefully the grass is solid up above Dayton and I can just fish the edges all summer

Dr Detroit,

That was epically inconsiderate. I can’t even imagine what was going through their minds. Why would anyone ever blow by a boat that close, much less directly over where someone’s fishing?

Had 2young guys in a black and gray Trition with older 200 Yamaha with Georgia numbers saw me catch 1 shute off came almost close enough for my 2oz.lead I like hitting boats that come to close thought I would get to use it needed them come another ten yards but they stayed out of range may be next time. stupid jerks.

Pretty sure that's the ones that did the loops around me and another boat last week.
