Hey All.... my dear daughters bought me one of those fancy-dancy IPod's for Father's Day... AND a fancy little portable speaker so me and my fishing friends can rock out to some good fishing music on the boat. I need some suggestions for good fishing songs to download. Here's my style (that I already have):
A Country Boy Can Survive
Tennessee River
Sweet Home Alabama
River of Dreams
Song of the South
Mountain Music
Jaws Theme (I like that one emoBigsmile )
Drift Away
Down to the River to Pray
Devil Went Down to Georgia

Ya'll tell me what else I need please (Title and Artist, if possible) Thanks in advance

Fishing Song - Brad Paisley (aka "I'm gonna miss her)
Hillbilly Deluxe - Brooks and Dunn
The legend of Wooley Swamp - CDB
Bad Moon Rising - CCR

To keep this post short, I'll just say anything by Skynyrd, Brad Paisley, Alabama or Creedence is a must. Sounds like you're off to a pretty good start though!

<ul>[*]"24 Hours at a Time" - Marshall Tucker Band[*]"Swamp Music" - Skynyrd[*]"Don't Ask Me No Questions" - Skynyrd[*]"Lord Have Mercy On A Country Boy" - Josh Turner[*]"Country State Of Mind" - Hank Jr[*]"Lawyers, Guns and Money" - Hank Jr[/list]

You'll probably be sorry you started this......

Fish Ain't Bitin' Lamont Dozier
Cat People David Bowie
The Fish Bobby Rydell
All I Need is a Miracle Mike & the Mechanics
Tug of War Paul McCartney
Afternoon Delight Starland Vocal Band

And of course those songs for special occasions:

at the nuke: Getting Mighty Crowded by Betty Everett
in a rainstorm: Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head B.J. Thomas
reeling against drag with a spinning rod: The Twist Chubby Checker
fishing with newbies: Absolute Beginners David Bowie
catching a really big fish: Turn Me Loose Fabian
under the railroad bridge: Loco-Motion Little Eva
knocking off a good fish: Crying Roy Orbison

And of course, the Rimms cattin' theme song: FUNKY CHICKEN Willie Henderson

I really liked the old theme song from Bill Dance outdoors. Maybe someone could help with the name and artist. It started out, " When the sun came up this morning, I took the time to watch it rise"

Welcome to Goose Creek - Goose Creek Symphony
Fire on The Mountain - Marshall Tucker Band
Soulshine - Greg Allman
Ramblin Man - Allman Brothers Band
Great Day to be Alive - Travis Tritt
Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding

Not really about Fishin, but can't help but make you feel good

This thread is so good I hate to interfere with all these great suggestions but my time as a young musician tells me it was Tammy Winette who sung the Divorce song and was really p.o.'d when Hillary made a wisecrack about it several years ago. And one of Dance's old buddies is Jerry Reed who, I think, did his long-running theme song. They did a show together on one occasion when Jerry threw him overboard at the end.
Jerry was a super-picker who is dying from emphysema. Elvis was recording once and he wanted the same guitar lick that Jerry had played on the Amos Moses song, and no one could do it exactly like Reed so Elvis stopped the session until they found him and brought him to the RCA studios. This was before cell phones and guess where they found him? Out on the lake fishing.

Sorry, this is way too much information and I'm rambling emoGeezer
