got out til 10 just kind of beating around. ran some shallow stuff trying to get a topwater bite but i quickly left that and went back the the shell bed from the day before. beat around on it for almost an hour with only one bite as the sun was coming up. went over and looked at a point nearby and it was loaded(but everything here looks loaded with all the white perch, bait, drum, catfish and everyother species in this pond the sonar always looks loaded :)
beat around on that point and caught several on a couple of different crankbaits but the biggest might have been 4lbs, i seemed to have worn out my welcome. i jumped back over to the first shellbed and it was on! first 5 casts with a cb=5 fish in the boat. not giants but decent keeper fish. threw the 5th fish in the livewell(dont want them going back and telling on me til im done) and fired the cb back out there, wound it down and felt it hit the bottom, stopped it then started winding it again hard and it just stopped! :) felt a couple of good head shakes and it was gone! UGH! i think i caught one other little fish but basically the bite ended when i lost that fish. turned em loose and went to the house. fun morning and learned some good stuff this weekend.

dont know about "a new Jmax" but ive been posting reports on my website for so long that posting here to isnt that big of a deal. i learned years ago that sharing information about the sport we all love is so much better than trying to hoard WHAT YOU THINK are secrets. its a big part of the reason i started guiding back in the Carolinas; there is few things that are more rewarding than having a client call to you tell you how well they caught fish on a technique you taught them :)
