I saw on the news last night where this "Freedom From Religion" group was at it again. The same group that chastised the owner of Chick Fil A was after the Ridgeland High School football coach. It seems he had been leading pre game and post game prayer for the team and even taking them to Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church for pre game meal. Im sorry but why is that wrong?????? When I was in school we had prayer before and BOTH teams met on the field after for the Lord's prayer. These days it seems like the freedom of speach act only applies to everyone other than Christians. I would like to publicly show my support of coach M. at Ridgeland High School and faculty everywhere that might be facing the same situation. If you want to pray then you should be able to do so. If you dont then you simply dont have to. Im not gonna bash anyone for their beliefs or faith because who am I to do so? On the other hand I'm pretty sick of having to walk around on egg shells as to not offend anyone that may or may not believe the same way I do. There is a HUGE following of supporters that started a facebook page for the coach and I thought this would be another good place to show the coach that people appreiate what he does. I could go on and on about this but its about time to get to work so take care and God Bless you all!!! emoAngel emoAngel emoUSA

I am a peace loving man. I stand behind the coach also. If the said protesters from Wisconsin would like to come to the SOUTH to protest....I for one will be there on their arrival. Enough is enough!!!!!!!! emoEnforce The same for the Westboro freaks!!!!!

The same thing is going on right now in Chattanooga with the comission meeting. They don't want any prayer said to open the meeting. It's gona take Christians opening up a can of woopass to put these people in their place. It's sad what these people are doing to our country. I also am a peace loving man, but it's about time that people start doing something to stop them. If they don't want to take part----OK, but don't stop me or mine. emoHoppingmad

YOU can pray ANYTIME, ANYWHERE you please! The difference is: A coach/teacher/principal is a STATE GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE and is forbidden from leading/compelling those he/she is authority over to pray. What part of Separation of Church and State do you guys not seem to understand?

I have an idea. The freaks of Freedom From Religion should run on down to Talladega Raceway. AFTERALL...they PRAY, before every race...on a PA system. They should protest on the Saturday race.....and them if they are ABLE...maybe come back for the Sunday race. Just a thought. I guess they are selective on where they protest. Oh...any Nascar track will do.

Hey outcaster, one simple question: are you a Christian? Me? yes sir and proud of it.

Simply put, it's none of your business.....but, I am very comfortable with where I am spiritually. I don't call my a Christian because I consider most so-called Christians to be hypocrites. It's just hard for me to understand why so many of you want the Govt to get out of your way (because it's bad and restricts your freedom), but are comfortable with the Govt (and it's officials) leading you in prayer. BTW here's what Jesus had to say about public praying.....

Matthew 6:5-6: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men....when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret...."

I have never met either of you guys but, the U.S. was built on God and since He has been taken out of everything this country has gone down hill. I am a born again child of God and very proud of it. I gave my heart to Jesus on Aug. 13, 2005 at 37 years old, I used to complain about people praying and talking about God but, when He came into my heart He truly changed me. I believe in prayer and will pray whenever I feel necessary and if it offends someone then I'm sorry. The bible also says, Luke 9:26, For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. I have been offended by people using Gods name in vane, but I don't down people for it, "I use to be that way myself", instead of getting mad I just simply pray for them. I pray for everyone on the CFF that if they don't know the Lord that something may be said that they will give their heart to Him before its to late. I don't want to offend anyone anywhere but prayer is very important for our lives. God bless you'all.

What part of Separation of Church and State do you guys not seem to understand?........Danny, please tell me where this is in the constitution. I have looked and looked and cant find it....

Thats because it isn't there. In was quoted from a letter, send by Jefferson. Maybe we could ask the current adminstration in the Whitehouse.....Nah, he doesn't believe in the CONSTITUTION either. Oops.

BUZZ.....My point exactly........Isn it amazing how some groups hold so close something that isnt in the constitution and disregard what is actually in it......sickening.....

It's not part of of the Constitution because...... at the time, Separation of church and State was a complete "No Brainer", not even worthy of a debate. It's the whole reason our country was founded.... religious freedom without govt interference. Go back and read the writings of Jefferson, Adams and Franklin on the subject then try to convince someone that the founding fathers did not want a "Wall of Separation". Sounds like some of you slept through 9th grade American History class.

I had a KNOCK-OUT fresh out of college American History teacher. I found it hard to concentrate on the subject at hand. emoParty

Telling me I can't pray when I want to. How is that not affecting my freedom. If you really don't want to hear it stick the fingers that God gave you in your ears! In God we trust!!

outcaster, why are you so angry? If it is so cut and dry, as you say, then why after all these years are we still debating it. You're just banging the table, picking pieces here and there, to back what you want to be right. This is a much more complicated issue and it's one these things that the atheists are hell bent on beating to the ground. One atheist will put their child thru hell to try to make some type of point. If anybody is trying to force their beliefs on others, it's the atheist.

Freedom of speech and Religion.......I can pray when I want.... How complicated is that. It doesn't say freedom from religion.
