Well I guess Im gonna be buyin me some synth for the boat from now on

I used to run the OMC Carbon Guard....and still do occasionally. It`s an add to the fuel additive to reduce the coking . The worst thing about the coking is it get between the ring and the groove it rides in the piston. It pushes the ring out and reduces the wiggle of the ring . Sooner or later it`s pushed out far enough and can catch in the edge of the port as it goes by....breaks the ring and then all kind of ugly things happen.
The OMC Tune UP stuff is sprayed in the throat of the carbs while running and it is supposed to dissolve/reduce the carbon build-up. Smokes like crazy and tries to kill the engine if you don`t play with the throttle.
I asked my guy at Bunch`s about doing the Tune Up during one of my annual check-ups and he said since I was using Amsoil I wouldn`t need to do it. I think it just burns more completely than regular oil.
I don`t know what the Klotz runs price wise but the last Amsoil I bought was 27$ a gallon and they said it was going to go up couple dollars soon.

Yea snuffy .. I ve used the spray in carbs stuff , which is what I have, its is smelly , and first time you use it you think your gonna die , or the engine is lol , but then it burns up and out .. and all is good again!

Who sells Amsoil 2 cycle 50:1 here in chattaboogie area ? Anyone know .. or the Klotz ? I can order Klotz on line , but would prefer to spend my money locally if I can

My motor is "84 150 hp merc and I've always ran the regular quicksilver and it's been doing just fine. I think I'll stick with it. Just my 2 cents worth.
