You boys ever gonna stop living in the past?
Doc1 - 2/26/2010 6:24 PM
I'll quit living in the past when the republicans start living in the present and start helping with the present problems and quit sitting on their hands and saying no to everything that comes down the pike.

cheez - 2/26/2010 6:15 PMNo need for the Republicans to even try Doc. Your boys have all the marbles and all the power. Put up or shut up. You have the votes. Make something happen without the Republicans. Why can't you? Huh? Many others and me have been asking this question for months. Stop blaming the Republicans and grow a pair. Put up or shut up!Doc1 - 2/26/2010 6:24 PM I'll quit living in the past when the republicans start living in the present and start helping with the present problems and quit sitting on their hands and saying no to everything that comes down the pike.

What are the republicans in office for? They are elected just like the democrats, all they are doing is taking up space and breathing someone else's air, whining, bitchin and moaning and saying "No" to everything. Why don't they just resign? They are useless.

What are you talking about Gary? You think adding Political was my idea?

SpurHunter - 2/27/2010 1:10 PM Ok Gary, we can do this on the open forum if you like. No, I dont think if a person participates in here with some dignity, that the forum is a bad thing. If you do, why cant you control yourself and avoid it? Here are some facts for you. Fact: Page views, and unique users to the site are WAY up on CFF in the past year. Fact: Membership, in the past 12 months, is growing at a faster pace than any other time. Fact: Unfortunately for Democrats, outdoorsman and fisherman are overwhelmingly Republicans. (I know, must be because Spurhunter is controlling their minds huh?) But yes, a political forum on one of these sites will lean heavily conservative. Do I think that it is solely because me and Adam have done anything special, not especially. I do believe there have been some improvements in areas, but the simple fact is that the forum IS growing, and participation is up. Go to any number of similar sites, you will see the active portion of users is right in line with CFF. I am a member of 10 or more forums, and only post on 2 or 3. Debate in this country is a good thing, heck we teach it in High School and college, even celebrate it. But with debate teams and competitions comes rules; You cant take it, or make it personal. Who knows if somebody reading this forum on either side of the debates reads something that makes them get up one morning and say, "I AM going to run for that office and make a difference". Voicing ideas and concerns amongst like-minded people, (fishing and outdoors) does in fact breed awareness, and even compromise. I for one dont know everything about politics, or even US history for that matter. I HAVE learned some things by reading these posts from the likes of Outcaster, Beetlespin and others. You say "change" is a great thing for our country, but you are deadset against change on a public forum that celebrates the lives and interests of local fisherman? Kind of seems one-sided to me. You want nothing to evolve, except for our overall way of life in this country, thanks to Democrats being elected to run the country, but not in one small group of 5K people in South East TN? Does not the Democratic party believe in free speech?...the "Fairness Doctrine"? So I say again, please dont open or read this forum if it offends you to the point of raising your blood pressure and lashing out at people as individuals.
