My regular partner has bronchitis so John filled in and I think we are going to have to do some net skill drills. Luckily no fish lost.

Our day started out tough picking up one small spot keeper on a deep rocky bank. I think there were fish there but it was pretty stained up. We moved to a couple of other locations and nothing. I know I had caught some smaller fish in an area so we went there. After arriving in this area I immediately caught another keeper. Shortly after that our third. We culled out the spot with another largemouth and picked up a few more keepers. I told John we needed a good kicker fish and not long after I got the big bite. That fish was around 7-8 I think but man did it look bigger and that was the only fish netted successfully by my partner .....

I think we ended up with 13 and some change good for the win.

All fish caught were caught on three baits - jerkbait, ring worm , and rig...
Water temp was 52 to 54
boat was usually in 10 to 12 feet throwing to shallows
Net skills suspect
The strikes were highly aggressive

Great report. Just think if that net man would have missed it would have been at least a 10 pounder.
