todd9433 - 7/27/2017 9:39 PM Hydrilla and milfoil is not native to our local waters and is a nuisance. As far as I'm concerned I hope they released the pellets like they did in Watts Bar many years ago. Why anyone would like seeing this plant invade our lake like this is beyond me. And by the looks of tournament weights this year it has not hurt the fishing.
Here is a thought since you don't like bass boats and fishermen/women on "your" lake. Sell your house and move to Tellico Lake or Ft. Lodoun. No grass or fish up there so you don't have to worry about those nasty bass boats cluttering up your view.

This clown is a troll, period. Quit feeding him and he'll climb back under his rock. Eleven years on this forum and only 11 posts in that time.

I thought the same thing .

I went out last Saturday and it was by far the worst time I have had on the chick. none of the recreational boaters pay attention to the rules of the road. I had multiple recreation boaters cross my bow to close for comfort. i some times get out in my bass boat and just ride around for fun i have no issue with that. what i cant stand is they think they own the place and do what ever they want. as far as the grass is concerned. i have found a lot. most about 4 t o5 feet under water but there is a ton. i think its more weather related than the TVA killing it.

I will be hosting a meeting for all local people of the area on how we can eradicate this very evasive species of hydrilla and milfoil. It will take some donations but I'm sure we can accomplish this another year. Anyone interested in helping please message me and I will also be giving farther details at a later date.

I'm very interested in this meeting , although I do kayak fish it is still very hard to paddle through that mess . It's also very hard to concentrate on my fishing with $100,00 boats flying by us like we don't have rights to the lake . I also think having a tournament every Friday,Saturday, and Sunday is killing the lake . So with that being said , I think killing some evasive crap grass is not a bad idea . I'm not even going to complain about trying to wakeboard in that nasty stuff , but it sucks !

If anyone here has seen or heard of them spraying contact fishdayton either on fb or email. They are wanting to hear of any reports. I spoke with them on fb about it and they regurgitated the tvas speech. I said lots of ppl have heard or seen them spray get on Tennessee fishing forums and pm ppl. Maybe they will. I think if these local places that make money on the sport get together with us fisherman we can combat the issues if there is one and maybe help out the future of the lake. I know fish Dayton has a $$$ interest in the lakes fishing quality.

I put in @Skull Island yesterday, ran up lake to bend just below Opossum Creek...Kept hearing the roar of an airboat. Not lon on the west side there she blows...hitting pockets on west side. I had moved to Soddy creek & its running in front of me, well past Marina then back down again spraying the pockets, did not spray around marina. Later I was outside Ware branch & again up the east side , went into Ware branch, possibly to reload or take out. Did not see after this, as we were taking out bout 1pm afternoon. ..... emoGeezer emoUSA emoDoh

Below Sequoah , C Frost, H Bay & surrounding areas sprayed today...red tag on walk @ H Bay ramp...sprayed hundreds of acres this week that I know of, there are a couple pockets they have missed, shallow pockets , guess golf clubs are scared the over spray would be bad for their greens........... emoGeezer emoUSA

I know of lots of places where grass has topped out, plenty of grass and even better no one lives in the area. Also far away enough from the nearest ramp that the airboat would take forever to get to this area. I says it weather related d

Todd9433 you are a true dumbass that thinks you own the lake why in the world would you even suggest to put a chemical, pellets or whatever in the very drinking water you drink. You're are just plain ignorant...... And need to move on.

I have never water skied or wake boarded, but why would you want to wake board in less than 6' of water (where most of the grass grows)?

With any luck those that do ski in 6' of water will be harpooned by a log. One less idiot in the world.

I have spent endless amount on having my dock area sprayed every year. If we can get enough people interested in these pellets we can end this nuisance once and for all.

Oh? Well, what about the fish, I think the slang name was grass carp, that they brought in that's not native to our waters to control the grass that's not native? You're good with that? As far as you not understanding why fishermen are opposed to this, you obviously suck at fishing, or don't know crap about the crash that happened to this fishery the last time this occurred in the 80's. Which means you are completely ignorant of the outcome. The CBA is an excellent gauge of our fishery. Before the total grass kill of the late 80's the CBA had weigh ins almost comparable to the present. After the grass kill you could win with 15 lbs. The TWRA has increased this fishery with the introduction of the Florida strain bass at a great cost, again not native to these waters and I suppose should be illegal as per your beliefs, and we now hold the state record. I say screw you and your meetings.

If you think the grass just grows in 6' or less you're the idiot sir !

If you're going to resort to name calling the least you could do is answer my question and I said MOST of the grass not all of it.

It's simply agree to disagree, the grass is a mess every year. It hinders my and others style of fishing . It clogs up passage channels, docks , mats all the way out to deeper water nobody thinks about the pleasure boaters either . It's all of our lake to use , whether I'm yak fishing or out with my boys wakeboarding . I'm on the water every weekend in one or the other of my boats . I'll either be in a camo green Jackson yak or a lime green and black wake setter please feel free to stop and talk I'm a pretty pleasant dude !
