Went down to fish the ABA on Neely Henry. This was my first tournament of the year and since i've always seemed to have luck on this lake I was hoping for a strong start. That never really materialized unfortunantly. We fished riprap for the first few hours of the day with little luck. My partner caught 2 keeper spots and I caught 1 short. After that we moved to shallow banks with patches of dead grass scattered around. I ended up catching 3 small largemouths that measured and partner caught 1. Weighed in 3 for a whopping 4.5 lbs! It will get better down there about the middle to late part of May.

I grew up on that lake it can be a hard lake to pattern. I end up beating the bank all year, never have had much luck offshore. How do you fish it during the summer?

If there is current I like to fish humps on the main lake and docks but on no current days I work the grass and docks. Somedays it's great, some days can't get a bite no matter where I go!
