GREAT HORNED OWL "HURT" who to call?

Id rather be shot in the head then have to live the rest of my life in a zoo. That bird may be mature and near his end of days. I spend many hours outdoors and I can guarantee you there is no shortage of Owls in this state!

I bet if you showed up at the nature center with it, they would take it. Ive taken a couple of baby ducks that had not mother up there once and they just couldn't say no. Of course little baby ducks are cute, and after they thought about it a minute, they said they had a hen that had some chicks about that size, so they took em. Owls are cool birds, and they like to have interesting animals for the kids to see, so they might take it.

If I can help you with any expenses you incur let me know.

Good for you - I'm OK with nature taking its course but I doubt how it got injured was "nature" but a car collision while it was in flight likely while going after prey.

After talking with the Nature center and the ZOO, I took it to the Zoo.
They promised they were not going to keep it in captivity. They were going to have a guy who rehabs animals come out and see what could be done.
They are suppose to keep me informed as well as notify me when it is ready for release. I probably will take my rug rats out to watch it be released. Should it not be able to be rehab'ed, they will also notify me and I should be able to pick the bird up and then will put it down. I'm like Churly I wouldn't want to be kept cooped up after living my life free.
I will let you know as I find out more information.

I believe there will be a decent ending to the story.
I was told the Owl was moved and I should be able to get a better update by Monday.
The bad thing is I don't think I will be able to find out if Owl's taste like Chicken emoPoke emoSmile
