Hope you can find someone to get it fixed right blazer.
engatty - just for the record - I didn't pay for an opinion - I paid for a diagnosis, nor were the results of said diagnosis expressed as an opinion of what "may" be wrong or what "may" need to be fixed. The resuts were that my ignition system from the stator to the power pack was "smoked", "cooked", "burned" and any of the other descriptive adjectives they used to describe the problem. That, in my opinion, is neither a reversible or miraculously curable condition, nor would I think it to be easily misdiagnosed.
What was opinion, however, were the attempted "upsells" on several other unrelated recommendations for things my motor "may" need.
What has been eye-opening are the number of folks who correctly guessed which shop did this and had similar stories...
It also doesn't embarass me that I almost got taken in - like I said I'm not an expert - that's why I mistakenly trusted this particular establishment to provide a diagnosis and solution to the problem. I'm just glad my bullcrap detector was firing on all cylinders that particular day...
Personally, I like to think that most people are basically honest and I really try to assume innocence in most cases - however, in this case I really have my doubts now. Like you said - everybody has to buy groceries - I'm just glad I'm not paying this month's bill.
