Just curious to what others think about this subject ? ( It kinda hits me like the jerks that pull out in front of you on the road

and then run 1/2 the posted speed limit , but the kicker is that there is usually NOT A CAR behind you as far as the eye can see , but

they can't wait 5 seconds and then pull out . )

Not trying to start any crap , I am asking what is kosher now adays ? Is that how it is now ? or just bad judgement on someone else's part ?

if I was right or wrong in my own mind for this pissing me off as much as it did .

Long intro , here is the deal. Stop boat to start fishing a spot / point , look way down the lake , see another boat , far enough away that I couldn't even tell you what color it was ,

as soon as I get in my seat and flip the trolling motor in the water the boat comes flying up and around me , yanks in about 30 yards in front of me and then start throwing lines

in the water . I am sitting there thinking ....... emoBadLanguage ? It pissed me off bad enought that I slammed my trolling motor back onto the gator mount , fired up the old

Johnson and whizzed by him with the "what were you thinking" look emoTskTsk , and I go about 100 + yards passed this boat and then go back to fishing . I'm thinking , you've

got how many freaking acres of lake to fish in / pick from and you have to come flying in and sit on top of me ? ? This is not the first time , just the first time here and in a while . Guess I've

gotten used to fishing a big private lake ?

Person may not even be a member here ? But if they are , just remember that the old guy in the old brown boat don't take too kindly to what you did this morning ...... emoGeezer

If that is your favorite spot in the whole lake , I"m sorry . I know the feeling when you come around the corner to "your" spot and someone is there , but thats the way it goes , you go

find another spot , and who knows , the new spot might be even better !

So if you can fit your boat inbetween the bank and next guy , is it ok ? is it not ok ?

Me ? example - Twice this week I've gone out , headed to one of my favorite spots / sloughs and come in

and see another boat in there fishing , I've slowly turned around and found another spot to fish , most the sloughs are fairly small , the bigger ones might be a different story , but there

are A LOT to pick from and the water is just as wet in this one as the other one ! . Half the fun of fishing solo sometimes is just that , peace an quiet emoAngler .

Down off the soapbox now LoL emoCrazy

It should be ok....to post a pick of them. It's what the world has come to. NO MANNERS!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a matter of manners, but the problem is that there is no book of etiquette for the various types of fishing and the different areas we fish in. Bass casting folks tend to want the largest areas, especially if it is a structure that fishes "fast", while bait fishermen seem to be OK with much smaller areas. I have never seen a consensus of bass fishermen on just how much area should be "theirs" and how far ahead of the way your boat is pointing should be sacred water.

Unfortunately, it is all a matter of opinion and will remain so for the forseeable future. I suspect many of the folks who we might feel stepped on our toes don't even know that they may have done it, because it is not a breech of etiquette to them. Getting ugly with them will only make them defensive - or dangerous. Still, it's nice to have a forum to bitch about it in!! emoBigsmile

LoL , I thought this might start something that has been beat to death before .......... :emoticon:

SpurHunter , I went back a few pages and didn't see any recent threads , thought I'd get it going again LoL .

EricM sumed it up pretty good , I heard it put another way once also ................ your so stupid ya don't even know your stupid or even how stupid you are ! how stupid is that ?

I'm still trying to figure out that line hehehehe . Maybe that is just how they do it now a days , I learned what dub step was last week , so I guess I can learn the new ways of

lake fishing hehehe

I am just trying to figure out if the rules have changed in the last 10 years out on the big lakes , I wasn't mad mad , just tickled me the wrong way for a minute !

Oh , I forgot to ask how youse guys are voting in Nov ? KIDDING ! :emoticon:logo

What lake were u on, just asking emoQuestion . See u have been on Parksville quite a lot lately. Good lake for pleasure & senerary, lot o good spots to be caught as well as "SPOTS" to fish. Manners are not always found in tackle box and jerks are sometimes found on water in fishing boats emoBigsmile ............. emoGeezer emoUSA

for me i dont like getting within 50 yards of somebody unless we are meeting on the same strech of water and are passing each other going the opposite directions...i'm like everyone else that's had guys not only sit down near where i'm fishing and even motor over what i'm fishing or troll over what i'm fishing..like in the way type stuff..very frustrating when you cant cast without hitting them or their boat...if i'm going somewhere and somebody is even near where i want to fish i'll either fish behind them or wait for them to move off...we were fishing a point and wanted to hit another spot but somebody was on it and i asked andy if we should still hit it anyways after they left and he said heck yeah they aint throwing what we are and i caught 2 4.5lbers in 3 cast, so sometimes it doesnt matter if someone is there or not before you it's what you have confidence in to make them bite. but it's still common courtesy to not get in somebody's way if they were there first...IMO anyways

I always try and leave 50 yards between myself and other boats, also try not to cut off the path of someone if they are trolling a bank or anything like that..........unless it's Jmax, then I'm getting as close as I can and casting into his live well. :)

I use a 5/0 EWG to open the lid then throw a pink and purple spook in the well, everyone knows Jmax's favorite lure is a spook and his favorite colors are rainbow.....lol emoAngel

I may have just got a little spoiled having the lake pretty much all to myself the last week or two LoL .

I had only had 1 diet coke by 7:45 , so I was about 4 behind , could have just be a lack of caffine rage hehehehe .

It is still better than being at home cutting grass , AND having your wife sitting on the front porch telling you that your not doing it right .............

seems she tells me that about alot of stuff , stuff ya'll maybe don't want to hear about HAHAHA ! sometimes I kill me !

You're fairly new to the forum, so you should know this has been a topic MANY times. You personally wouldn't know that-so It's a valid point, and there's a lot of ways to handle it.
You just do what your personal beliefs and your past criminal record allows, but I personally do like to make it known to the butt-head that he invaded your area. As far as kosher? Dillpickles! Shalam!

Ok , its getting violent ................... lock thread ................ hehehe

Oh I had a pretty good idea its been talked about before ......... kinda like on our old atv / 4 wheeler board .

Just mention the word mud lite tire and it was on hehehee

Everybody stay safe out there on this weekend !

Looks like rain out there now ?

I just try to double casting distance. If we can throw a dd22 towards each other and they get tangled im too close. Don't cut someone off either.
