I was fishing the ledge in Harrison Bay yesterday and we thought we saw a big log floating downriver. As it got closer I made the comment that it may be a dead sturgeon floating. As it got closer it didn't look that way anymore but it was a fish of sorts. I trolled up to it and it was 2 - 60+ pound catfish head to head but one of ems head wasn't completely inside the other's. There tails were moving but barely. I reached down and touched the tail of one and they completely freaked out and swam away. 25 years of fishing and never have seen something so crazy?????

We saw two yesterday evening in the main channel between Harrison bay and Chester frost. They separated from each other and swam away before I could take a pic.

Its blue cat spawning season, and this is somewhat common while they defend their dens.
Yep, what Spur said. Ask any noodler (like Spur) and they will tell you that blue cats are extremely ferocious when protecting their beds!

Maybe it is just me but a big channel cat is worse than any blue, of the same size, that I have seen when spawning, a channel just won't turn loose. It seems channel's jaws are much stronger when they clamp down on your arm or hand.
