Smaller crowds this weekend. Friday night there were 15 boats.
First Place: Rodger Kendrick and Kieth Ellis. 18.21
Second Place: Bruce Day and Lebron Creed. 15.13
Third Place: Matt Jenkins and Oscar Torbett. 10.44
Big Fish: Rodger Kendrick and Kieth Ellis. 11.15

Saturday night there were 13 boats and it sounded like a very tough night for most anglers.
First Place: Nick and Eden Chuba. 12.63
Second Place: Tim Long and Earl Westbrook. 12.11
Big Fish: Charlie Myers. 5.78

Don't know Jim. I was still out of town on Friday. I made a late appearance on Saturday night to help with the weigh ins.

I don't want to make any one mad because you guys put on a good tournament every weed end. But Saturday night I came in from a night of fun fishing after yall had done weighed in and left and their were four nice fish floating next to the dock. I know you can't save every fish but I would have thought someone would have none how to fizz fish and could have saved these fish.

Unfortunately the 11+ died too after being kindly donated and transported to the outdoor expo at camp Jordan. That's just too much stress for a big fish after being in a live well and weighed in. Especially this time of year. They said 5 or 6 other decent fish died as well. Quite unfortunate.

Why take the 11 to the expo...why not a couple 3's or 4's, anyone with any background in fishing would have known the 11 wouldn't make it through all that stress!

I knew this would come up. There was ANOTHER club once again fishing. They weighed in 5 fish limits and we heard some of them saying that they had fish dying in their live wells. I know it was their fish because they didn't even release them off of the end of the dock. They mostly just dumped the bag on the ramp and walked away. It's really funny how our group has fished EVERY weekend now and rarely ever see a dead fish. This same thing happened last summer and WE got the blame. I don't know if it's the same club or not but I heard they were from GA and could probably care less. It's not affecting the lake they fish day in and day out. I went back out after weigh in Saturday night and took a few of the better fish in my live well with clips on them. They seemed OK about an hour later. I did what I could. People that don't know how to care for deeper bass need to quit fishing deep!

I see them dead at grasshopper too and a ton of them at Harrison on the weekends! How is the lake going to sustain itself with dozens of good fish dying every Friday and sat night in the summer do yall think?

The dead fish came from another tournament that weighed in same time as us. I fished sat night with my 10 year old daughter and we won. The other director said they had a sack of dead fished weighed in. To bad.

Dozens???? I don't think so. I know there will be some and some of that is delayed mortality. There are measures we as anglers can take to minimize that but nothing will totally prevent it.

Across the whole lake on a weekend id say theres over dozens killed. I know it cant be prevented completely and I don't blame anyone its just the way it is in the summer for some fish just wondering how yall think the lake will hold up to it?

We missed this past weekend hope to get back this Friday or sat night good to see we still wont compete for the money hahaha!

We saw four floaters Saturday night that were fish from that other Tx's weigh in. I didn't get their club name but they were from Rocky Face Ga. I believe. It was not form the HB Night Series. We saw their fish floating before we finished our weigh in.

My fault. I misunderstood you I thought you meant dozens of dead ones in Harrison Bay. That's why I got a little bit defensive.

Oh no lol. You put on a good tournament no offense meant to anyone. Just wondering. Nature of the game I reckon in the hot months.

No, it's not. What Hook1 is politely pointing out is that the wannabe tournament group from Georgia has absolutely no clue or care as to the wellbeing of our great fishery. They have demonstrated this countless times and give all of us a bad name.</p>

here is my question to everyone on here reading this why not pick up the floaters and dying put them in your livewell stop by the gas station pic up a bag of ice and clean them the next day or give them to someone who will eat them dont let them become a waste but make a meal out of them if you know there fresh why not i will pick them up and do this if i know there fresh i support catch and release but i'm not over eating a fish thats not going to make it anyways.

ccone, both the CFF and HB Night Series make a concentrated effort to take care of the fish. Several participants usually hang around after weigh in and watch for floaters. Many times we can just fizz them. The CFF has a one pound penalty for a dead fish and the HB Night Series doesn't allow a dead fish to be weighed in at all. And as you suggested, any dead fish are usually taken home by someone.

Your information is correct. But all fish that were floating from not being fizzed were fizzed, because I was wading around getting them and fizzing them. There were already several dead when we pulled up Saturday night washed along the bank. Whoever transported the 11lber to be at an expo is an absolute moron, why on earth would you risk killing a fish of that magnitude just for some people to look at it.

I wasn't blaming the HB night tournament are any one else. I just was saying after all the tournaments had left their were several nice fish floating at the doc. All I was saying it is a same that any one putting on a tournament should have a enough respect for other fisherman/fisherladies and the kids that are coming up that may want to get into fishing will have fish to catch.
