First of all the dumb ass was me. Thanks for showing your education! 2nd of all it was 100% a voluntary thing for all anglers to decide if they wanted to donate there fish for the expo or not. 3rd and final thing is when we left the CBA tank at 3:45 a.m. there was only 1 fish, about a 5 lber. That was struggling. It acted like it had been caught deep so we fizzed it in the tank and also put clips on it to try and help it. Just so you know, this ******* was trying to help the cause and wanted the younger kids that attended the expo to get a glimpse of our great fishery that we are so lucky to have. I personally have only lost 4 fish in the last three years. One died 5 minutes after I put it in the livewell last year and this year me and my partner thought we had turned the recirculatior on and seemed to not have done it. I guess with that mistake you could call me a dumb ass. Otherwise wise I would suggest you be careful with your choice of words as you dont know me from squat. By the way, I will be down on Friday and Saturday night fishing the HBNS from 8-2. You are welcome to come and fish with us and see for yourself how serious we are about taking care of our fish. Good day gentlemen. Oh and good day to you too!!!

I just ordered 2 fizz needls. And 3 sets of clips. To help save the fish. ... one im giving to tim long in case im not able to be there for every night. Just thought i put that out there. We all do try to save every floating fish. . But unfortunately not all can be saved.

It is not an issue of who caught it. It was a volunteer thing before the tournament even started. Everyone was asked if they wanted to help out and do this for the expo and the ones that agreed had the option to donate or not. I was truly just trying to help out. We had no idea what would be caught and by who. Trust me, I learned my lesson. Like I said all fish but one was in good shape when we left.

Not to go off topic but since its being discussed teach me yalls ways seems like yall know more about fizzing than me. I was told best and safest way is to pierce between the crushers to let the air out. I was also told by an old man at the boat ramp once that when doing so you've just killed the fish if it tries to go back to deeper water as the bladder now has a hole in it. I was confused and looked it up and a lot of ppl say that so I just don't even do it now..luckily I havnt had to do it at all this year. Whats yalls take on that detail?

I don't like it. The fish clips are completely safe and the absolutely DO work. You do however have to take the time to use them.

100% agree. Fish clips are 100% legit. If the weights haven't quite stabilized them I'll fiz them that's the only time.

Sometimes fizzing is the only option but it's imperative that the person doing it knows what they are doing. The ones that really need to be fizzed are the fish that were caught deep and left to float on their side in the livewell the entire day until weigh in. Those fish usually won't correct themselves once released and need a little help.

Idk of anywhere locally that carries them, but you can get them online at tackle warehouse. They are also very simple to make if you would rather do it that way

Fish N Fun had them. In a pinch you can use a heavy jig or shakey head instead. All it is is an alligator clip with a chunk of weight on it.

Bass Pro told me 2 weeks ago they were gonna order both clips and needles and stock them because I requested that they should. I was in there a week ago and the guy that told me he would order them walked up to me and saud they were on order.

Go to Radio Shack and buy a pack of alligator clips for about $2.00. there are various sizes. Then tie a piece of braid line on there and attach about a 3/8 oz. swivel bell sinker. Works just fine for probably less than five bucks!

im sick of all these tournaments at every ramp every night and twice on saturdays. TWRA needs to step up and make it where not just anybody can put on a tournament with their laundry basket and digital marijuana scale. I know you can do whatever you want with your 5 fish but if you want to keep this lake up and not turn into guntersville then you gotta take responsibility

That was one of my points in an earlier post. Chick is the only place I will go fish nowadays and love it. It's grown in just the last year fishing wise that I'm afraid if we as fisherman don't step up it'll be ruined in 10 years. Go to grasshopper creek on sat evenings and see the characters or lack there of out there fishing. I think the twra should regulate all these tournaments otherwise we are fishing the chick at the best it ever will be now. Hearing you guys talk on this thread has convinced me and at the next tournament I fish there I will hang around and help out the struggling fish.

This is why we weigh in 3 fish. Thanks for your concern maybe we'll see you Friday or Saturday night.
