If you are gonna count calories, here is a pretty simple way to keep up with the results. Take your current weight and multiply it by 10. That is the number of calories per day you need to maintain your current weight (if there is no change in your physical activity level, that is). For instance, if you weigh 200 pounds, you can consume 2,000 calories per day, at the same physical activity level. At 180 pounds, you can consume 1,800 calories and so forth. It's easy to calculate and keep up with and avoids keeping a log, records, etc.
