Hey buddy, thank you for "enhancing" my enjoyment of the "new" forum by zapping my first post. In my estimation you are

Not seeing your original post, I know for a fact that we moderators, do not delete anything unless its causing harm to another. It may have also been a mistake Tony.

We gain FREE...yes...FREE knowledge here at CFF. The bandwidth cost and programing cost has to get paid...why cant the owners make a buck. I don't think they are lining their pockets to the point of bulging..They manage some very demanding sites and fromt he looks of things, they do a pretty good job.

I would hope you could contain some of your fustration and welcome the new guys. WE MAKE THIS SITE...they keep it up and running.

Welcome to a great site Mike.

I hope you will find out this is the best fishing forum on the web! I dont think there is a group of folks anywhere that share more info, have more fun, care more about our waters and local fishery than this group.

I hope you will also find the CFF a place to allow us to get to know you and your company on a personal level as we have known David. David's commitment to the site pales in comparison to his love of fishing the TN river, and it showed in every post he put forth, and allowed to be posted by other members for all to see.

We look forward to new and exciting things, but are also sad for the change.

I believe after looking at some of the sites you manage we are in good hands, and hope we can continue to grow with you!

I hope you can find the time to attend some of the get-togethers we have localy, and you will see first-hand the quality of members we have have here on the CFF.

Looking forward to fishing with you soon!

Hello tarheel,
I can assure you no one from our company deleted your post and since none of the moderators did I can only assume it is a bug related to the change over. Please feel free to post your opinion about the recent transaction.

It is definitely not any mystery that our company does generate revenue from our network of fishing, hunting, and outdoors sites, although "lining our pockets" my be a bit strong of a term for what we do. I think that term implies you are generating revenue at the expense of others. What we do is very different from that. We do generate revenue, but every site we own is absolutely free, our users receive great promotions, access to technology and services that make their time on the site more enjoyable, support for events, give-aways, and much more. Our sponsors who help make everything we offer possible get targeted advertising to users who are interested in their products and services and a guarantee of over 300% the industry average on their banner click rates. I am proud to say that, what we are part of, is a win/win/win. It is a great business for us, a great time for the users and great value for the sponsors.

I truly believe if you give this some time you will be very pleased with the outcome.

P.S. BBass, well said, you all do make the site, and we just want to keep it up, running and growing so we can all enjoy it!

Hello SpurHunter,
I look forward to joining in on some of your local events.

I am very lucky in that respect. I have had the privilege of attending many of our sites fishing events and have fished with dozens of members from many sites throughout the U.S. and abroad. Although I have not had the privilege of fishing in your area to date.

I have been reading through posts here over the last few days and really look forward to fishing with and or meeting folks from this board (including Dave who has a couple of little ones the same age as mine)!

Thank you all again for the warm welcome and tight lines!

emoWelcome to theangler and thank you for taking over and helping David so he can get more time on the water and spend more quality time with his family.emoThanks

theangler:

Welcome and congrats on acquiring a great site. I think you will be happy here.

My favorite saying in business is this, (and I think it will be applicable here): "Not all change is good, however, all good comes from change". I look forward to the changes you can bring.

Amazing that we users can feel so emotional about this site. I'm sure it's a precarious time for both David and Mike H during this transition. I think that from what I can see, this company has the ability to take this forum to the level David wanted it to achieve, but as David has stated himself, it's a lot for one guy with a career, family and all that goes with both. It's pretty clear David had the opportunity to take it further, and obviously has the talent to make it as good as anyone in the world could do, but his values led him to chose otherwise.
It takes a lot for a man to walk away from his creation and hand it over to someone regardless of the amount of dollars that changed hands. I think we all know David has shown more character and what he values to those of us here. Money doesn't even come to mind when you speak of David Haun.
Mike, the users will tell you what they think. You won't have to ask often. Use David's charter/vision statement and you should go far. I hope you make a boat load of money. Good for you! You've got a gem. emoWelcome

Welcome Mike, we are all going to watch closely for you to come through for us as DHaun has. We have had a great few years and plan for the next few to be just as good or better.

As a mod AND a sponsor, I'll voice my concerns and then I'll join my ranks and be a good soldier. ;)

Whatever you do Mike, don't take our hometown flair. That - in a nutshell - is all that I ask. We welcome your new ownership and we look forward to what the future holds, but at the same time we're loyal to our roots ... and we're loyal to one another. As CFF member ranman once said to me, "I just don't trust someone that don't fish." There's a lot of truth to that statement and since the beginnings of the CFF, I've better come to appreciate what ranman was getting at. That's not to say someone else doesn't fit because they aren't from our neck of the woods, but we have a bond and DHaun helped to forge that bond in a manner consistent with that of our companionship.

I know that David had our best interests in mind when he moved on and I can appreciate that. It doesn't make it easy since we feel a little less "together" with the loss of our boss ... The Godfather ... but we support Dave and we support his decisions ... so, we support you. Keep things as 'together' as they are and you'll maintain your audience. This is as fine a group as I've ever had the priveledge to be around, so I hold my head high as I say that and fully trust what I've just said to be the gospel truth.

We welcome you, and we welcome the new era.
