I was wondering if there is any good areas to put a kayak in around here. I have never fished this far into the hiwasee. I see an area called mouse creek valley thinking of fishing around there and futher into hiwasee if it is good bass water. Please let me know thanks guys

Thank you. Any guys out there do any good in candies creek area for bass. I
Also wondering if there is grass in that area or not

no grass in the hiwassee, I guess all the polution from bowater and olin and now wacker keeps it from growing. The two mouse creeks are nasty. Candies creek is ok I like rogers creek the best up that way

I havnt been down that road in years, but I think there is a store before the bridge you could park at if not able to park at bridge. Went in Agency creek today and did OK had two in the three to four lb. range. Not big by Chickamauga standards but whatever. If you do go to lamontville after you try Rogers Creek go towards 58 and you will cross Price creek and its ok. Lots of stumps on creek channel that far up Rogers creek and I have took a bass boat a good distance up into the creek itself.

The first bridge you cross coming from 75 has a place to put in. I don't know how the fishing is though. I live a few miles from there but usually go up to Sewee creek to kayak fish.

Im willing to go wherever I will have the better chances of catching some good fish. I live about an hour away so just trying to find the best place to put in since I cant cover much ground with kayak.

You can put in at South Mouse creek and paddle out to the Hiwassee( 1/2 mile to river) and you are a rocks throw from the 75 bridge.

I very much recommend staying down river more. You can drive down lower river road and take eads bluff road and there is a gravel parking place and gravel boat ramp out there. Its at the lower exit of candies Creek about 100 yards below ledfords island.Plenty of fishing from there back up into candies Creek.Could spend a whole day fishing in there. You are also across from a Slough below Rogers Creek that after a short trip across the main river is safe fishing going into a side entrance to Rogers Creek. Also can go down river about 200 yards on same side and fish harbor hills Slough. There is 3 days fishing all in this area.

Perfect thanks guys. Is there a enough water in there right now for those sloughs and fishing Rogers and candies. I understand there is no grass. Shallow cranks and flip baits? Any other suggestions hoping water isn't to dirty will wait till.next week

Yes especially candies Creek, spinnerbaits, squarebills.Probably rattletrap with a cold snap.Plastic creature baits, worms.Good areas to flip.

You can park on the side of the road at N. mouse Creek and launch a small boat. That's the first bridge you come to off I-75. Two miles further will be the old Lamontville Store (closed and empty) near the Rogers Creek Bridge. You can launch a small boat there. About three miles further is a TVA concrete ramp (Price Creek). After that is mostly private access. North Mouse Creek is closest to I-75 bridge, the others are a good row downstream from the bridge.

I've launched my jon boat at the north mouse creek ramp a few times, there are often people fishing there on the gravel ramp beside the bridge. I've always ask politely if they cared to move for a few minutes while I put my boat in, so far I have always dealt with nice folks that hopped out of the way for me. If anyone ever gives me a problem about moving I will just launch somewhere else even though it is listed as a TWRA boat ramp, wouldn't want to get in an argument and then leave my truck sitting there unattended.

I'm not sure I would say I'm "wise" I just think I might have that rare thing called common sense lol.
