Got off work at 330 and met Jason at WT about 410 and HOLY CRAP was it windy! All I've heard is how tough the bite has been and then we got 100 mph gusts and a near 30 degree temp swing overnight. This was gonna suck but we decided to make the best of our free time and give it a shot. We ran a short distance from the bridge and started fishing a grass flat sitting in 8 FOW and throwing into the grass edge. Jason started out with a spinnerbait and I still had a little squarebill tied on from my last trip so I tried it out. My first fish was a 4.5 lb that could have weighed about 6 if he had a belly like the rest of our fish. Long story short, my trolling motor got all the work it wanted and the bite was actually on pretty good. We went to another spot after a while where I thought the wind would be calmer emoBang WRONG! We did find some fish in rocks just after a drop from 10 to 18 FOW and there were fish there. The only non-keepers we caught were a yellow perch and a small channell cat. Our best five would have pushed 19 to 20 lbs with my biggest a little over 4 and Jason caught one on a worm that was 6lbs easily and all the rest between 3 to 4 lbs and FAT. These fish were there to eat ond that was all. Water temps were 62 to 65 and wind gusts out of the north and west were rough but it helped the bite at least. I took one pic of Jasons fish on his phone maybe he'll upload it. Left at 730 and it was still windy. These guys may not have as bad a weekend fishing as we thought
