How often do you fish?

Same here, Rusty. I have set work hours 6 am to 2 30 pm Monday thru Friday, unless someone is off. I haul boat to work and go to the River or Lake a couple of times a week, and usually both days on weekends if weather Isn't horrible, of course. Like you, if I get bored with one lake, I will go fish another one, even a small trolling only lake south of me in Lafayette.

I try for at least once a week but mostly 1 time every two weeks. I do a lot of bank fishing. though I wish I could could do more Trout fishing than I get to. though, I figure anytime fishing any water is time well spent!

I go once or twice a week. Mainly on weekends. But sometimes I LL take a break from it. I have to when boat is acting up. Like it is now. I hate fishing in rain. So if rain is going to be all weekend I probably will not go.

Back in my hay days it was 5+ days a week beginning in 1989 after an accident at work that layed me up in a hospital for 7 months and 9 surgeries to put my body back together with steel pins and Mylex Mesh. When the doctor released me he told me I was done working and told me to go fishing so I did. 5+ days a week and someties more. I did that from 1990 through 2013. If I was not fishing I was making baits to go fishing. It was about 1999 that I was having issues with heat and being out on the lake. Doctor told me that the medications I am now on require I stay out of direct sunlight but I could go in early morning and all night after about 7Pm in summer. So I focused on learning to night fish and equipt the boat for night fishing. In 2013 I fished a night tournament on Percy Priest Lake with son in law and on the way home I told him to take the boat home with him. He said why and I said I think I'm gonna rest for a while. I didn't fish again or step foot back in the Skeeter till Spring 2016 and that was to fun fish and I think I went about 15 times that year and then this past summer I fished a lot at night with son in law or a friend and I plan on doing more in 2018. Just had New carpet put in the Skeeter, new headlamps, son in law bought new LED black lights for it that fit in rub rail and had complete LED lighting put on Skeeter. Got more lights than a Christmas tree!!......... Motor was gone through 2 years ago and had new power head put on rather than building old one. So i'm looking forward to 2018 and being able to post some trip results here.

You should just get you a pontoon with a top to keep you out of the sun!! Or build something you can attach an umbrella to you! haha Or just stick to night fishing, it's probably better then anyways!

Well in all honesty Port33 I have really developed a liking to night fishing and enjoy it more than daylight now. Now boat and Jet Ski traffic ecxept for other bass or fishing boats and normaly the wind has laid down and temps have cooled off and it is actually very pleasant fishing at night!!!

January through October every weekend except memorial day, 4th of July, and labor day weekends. Usually Sundays due to less traffic except for cba weekends. Late Feb to June I'll sometimes go sat & sun if they're biting good. October through December I'm in the woods unless it's warm

Quite often....have 5 days in past week, now rain & cold fronts will suspend fishing. Will do my maintenence & hony do's. Dr. appointments & hope for clear weather soon. Being retired helps just means my time is less than many years ago. Fish many diff lakes as I visit my daughters in other states...back seat is filled with many others who have some time as well...Wife just commented "every chance u get", she is right "occasionally" lol............Be safe , wave as we meet on H20.......... emoGeezer emoUSA

^^^^^^Fishing Machine^^^^^^ And Ole Jerry does it without a recessed trolling motor pedal !!! In 2018 we should get a calendar and mark every day we fish next year. Just can't tell my wife b/c she already thinks I'm obsessed!

Haha! That's a good idea. My wife thinks Im obsessed too. I ask her if we have any plans the day before I decide to fish and her usual response is A: I figured you'd be going or B: Didnt you just go last week? Well I may be obsessed a tiny bit but if fishing is my worst obsession Id say she should consider herself lucky lol.

I have never fish from November-February much, but hoping this year I can change that and start finding some colder weather fish!

When its not deer season I try to go 2-3 times a week. Sometimes more in the spring and summer. If the ramps are snow covered/icy on my home lake NE TN (Watauga) I will put salt on the ramps if I have someone to fish with. Smallmouth bite awesome here in the winter. I try not to go alone a whole lot in the winter due to the fact I had a friend fall in one time in the winter and almost died. he was able to get back into boat. If it hadn't been for a passing boat with dry clothes he would have froze to death.

Yep, back years ago when I was young and dumb I would go fishing in Winter by myself but never again. I also have at least two pairs of insulated Coveralls in dry well that will fit anyone that might be fishing with me as well under garments such as jogging pants and sweat shirts. I have never fallen off in the water in Winter but have heard horror stories of folks that have so like a Boy Scout I am always prepared now................. emoGeezer emoDance

well boat has been on the disabled list like me the past 5 yrs. But now that Sparta TN is my home and Center Hill is right around the corner, the boat resurrection is #1 on the by Spring list. I am aiming for 2-3 times a week with CFF tourneys to wear me out!!
