I feel like Obama this year. My business expenses were 10,000.00 more than my gross. I spent more keeping the business float than the business took in. Oh well 
I need another job. LOL Maybe this year will be better. It least I didnt have to pay the government, but I didnt get anything back either. Phewww I am disgusted

I'll be the first to say that GWB was a moron but the reason we are getting back what we are is because of his tax cuts. When those cuts are allowed to expire we will all be either getting less back or paying more. I still think income taxes should be eliminated in favor of a consumption tax.

Hardwood floors. The economy is so slow that every Tom, Dick, and Harry is cutthroating us actual business owners. There are guys out there who had 9-5 jobs who got laid off and decided to start hardwood. The chattanooga times has listings of guys who will do the work for .75 cents and us who have been in business for years are having to cut back too due to the "cheap" guys. Anyone who has ever done hardwood floors knows that actual cost is over .75 cents a square foot! Oh well, last year was a bust and now it is behind us so maybe this year will get back to normal.

Thank goodness for the first time homebuyers tax credit or I would've had to pay in $3,000. I need to get married or have a kid or something.
I'm married and have a kid and it doesn't help much. Look at 401K or some other payroll deduction to help reduce your taxable income. Thats all I can do other than save money through the year to pay Obama and watch him just waste it...Is there an emoticon flipping the bird?

I'm married with three kids plus I contribute to 401k. No other real deductions other than mortgage interests. I claim zero so the max gets taken out of my paychecks. I got $6400 back. I could claim more and get bigger paychecks but that extra would probably just get blown at walmart. As it stands now I pay off debt with the returns.

Me and my wife are paying 6400 this year. We got an inheritance this year which we paid off all debt except for house and still some to spare. Oh well its nice being mostly debt free and I thank my great aunt for that.

That interest free loan doesn't sound so bad when you have to pay the Government Man $3500, the month before your baby's due, like we had to last year. We changed our deductions, and will gladly accept our over payment back this year.

I had never had to pay in, in my life. Talk about a shock. I was ready to shoot our tax guy, until I double checked him. We had always gotten back 1500-2000, and then wham!

You know I joked earlier in this thread about being so broke I could not pay attention but in reality I'm glad I have a job and overall do not mind paying taxes. I just wish as I know you all do the wasting of taxpayer $s could on frivolous things be reduced or eliminated. I also do not cherish the fact that we pay for services to people in this country illegally or citizens who continually bash everything about our great country. emoUSA
