Don't sound like it downloaded. You should be able to click and then save to the SD Card.

Are you using Internet Explorer? Because Mozilla doesn't allow saving direct to the card for me.
Using explorer-running Chrome. Think I'm going to try again on my laptop-using Safari and a different SD card.

In IE, when I clicked on "download" it asked my to run/save, and I picked save. It didn't save it direct to the card; I had to go to "Downloads" (not My Downloads) select the bin(?) file, right click and save to (whatever drive is named as your card reader).

Keep in mind also, that some computers that have built-in MMC readers won't read the "SD" type cards. I have a 2 yr.old HP laptop with built-in card reader and it wouldn't read the SD card. When I recieved my Nav. Plat. East card, they sent a portable reader with it. I used that to download my update. It didn't take all theat long to download from HB (no status bar while downloading), and took no time to install in my unit; what took the longest was figuring out where the file went from HB. emoBang

I have to use Internet Explorer and send to my SD Card Reader. You could also save to your computer but you need to save it to the SD Card. If you use My Computer you can look at the SD Card and make sure the update is on the SD Card. Won't open but you can see the .Bin file.

Thanks Doug and flipper. I tried again on the PC, tried on the MacBook Pro. It just wouldn't work. Looked like it worked on the laptop, but never gave me a choice to save-in any place. I finally gave up and sent an email in the help forum to Humminbird. I'm just too dang dumb I guess :)

I installed the new update on my 1197 at the ramp yesterday morning and everything went fine. Thanks humminbird..

Chrome will save directly to your download folder. Just copy and then paste to your sd card. Installed the update to my 898 this weekend and had no problems.
