I said I was working on getting ifo for a lease, and I have it. If you are serious about hunting deer, turkey, and hogs this is a sweet deal! I would love to get some of my CFF buddies on the lease so I can have some buddies in deer camp this year! Just PM me if interested and I'll get you all of the info.

Its 37,000 acres for $300/year!

Correction: 32,000 acres and it all in TN! I'd pay that for the hogs alone!

BTW: this is not a joke, and I am not a principle on this lease, just a leasee. I thought I would share this info because I can see there are several of us who need places to hunt at an affordable price.

PM me and I will send the info. If you have not recieved a PM reply, just try again. I am on the road all day and my internet is still down at home so be patient if I haven't gotten back with you.

I really don't know - I've heard both positive and negative but you never know whats true or not... I'd like to hear from some folks that have actually hunted it.

The only thing that really concerns me is that there doesn't seem to be a real upper limit on the number of members and they were advertising guided hunts on the same property (on tndeer.com) last year.

But heck - 30,000 + acres for $300 ??? It'd be hard to beat that even if opening weekends were a little crowded.

The guy that talked me into this lease hunted the opener last year. he said there were about 50 people in camp, about 25 got up and actually went to the woods, the 10 that got more than 100 yards off the road killed bucks. Thats his account of last year's opener. He was actually complaining that not enough people got in the woods to get the deer moving. Besides, I'd pay $300 to have a place to hog hunt.

I've been fortunate enough to have a lease for the entire time i've hunted, and it's just me and dad. This year is different, as I live pretty far from home. I will be hunting ft belvoir, which is basically public. But i bet the place y'all are talking about is like most other large leases I've heard about. opening weekend will be busy, and a few weekends on holidays, otherwise deserted. The hardcore hunters will most likely have no trouble with other hunters. The guys here say that during the regular season only 30 hunters or so will show up on the weekends on ft belvoir. they have 130 or so slots for each day, and never fill up except on season openers.
good luck to everyone.

emoEek Gang, Churly and I spent all day yesterday on the new hunting club properties. We hit three land areas but to be honest we did not scratch the surface of the main one. We went to a couple of the farms and looked them over. One was 136 acers, one was 200 even and another was 650 acers. The 650 was planted with soey beans in several areas and covered with deer tracks. The main part of our day was spent on an 8,700 acer area that took most of our day and it was about overwhelming.emoRolleyes Went spent about 10 hours on four wheelers mainly driving trails and still did not cover the whole thing. Going around it took a 36 mile drive. That is just a large track of land covered with every type of stuff you could want to hunt. We saw around a dozen to fifteen deer and three had horns. Most of them were out of the truck while riding around looking. Churly went back today and I just talked to him on the phone and he is worn out. My butt is still sore from yesterday.

I am hitting another track of land that is 3,000 acres tomorrow and I was told by the owner that no one even hunted it last year. When I asked him why he said since it was not that close to the mian area and the club grounds no one wanted to drive over there. He told me it was covered with deer sign and had hogs on it as well.emoTongue May have to shoot me some bacon. MMMmmmm... put a pig in the ground and have a CFF pig roost.emoThumbsup Jmax

I am very sore after riding all of creation all weekend! I actually got off the atv and did some foot work yesterday. I also GPS'd my way around and figured out how to get from one side of the mountain to the other. never saw any pigs but did see som sign yesterday around the creek bottoms. I walked up on several deer in the woods, most were does as far as I could tell. Acorns were everywhere to my surprise both on the mountain and in the valley! That really surprised me! I saw white, red, and chestnut oaks dropping, and signs that the deer are eating them. I have a feeling that there aren't that many nuts in the trees and whats dropping now is getting eaten as soon as it hits the ground.

I guess the highlight of the weekend was watching Jmax ride a wheely up a mountain with his legs hanging off the atv!emoLaugh Looking forward to the season!

TT-I'll download some pics as soon as I can.

I've looked at the main website of this club, and see that the land is spread out in many tracts. Have you guys looked at any of the land in Marion county? That would be the closest to me.

Very hilly and very few roads. I went down several trails and saw deer tracks and sign so they are there. I also saw four turkeys. Two jakes, one tom and a hen today. The big Tom did not know I saw him and he hid behind a big tree no more then 25 yards away. I stopped and just waited, he finally stuck his head out around the tree and then took off running as fast as he could. That would have never happened if I had been hunting them.;) There is 3,000 acres there but how to get to them is the problem. I guess if you are a good hiker you coul walk it. I may go back but some of the other land we have seen looked a lot better.emoThumbsup Jmax

hmm, that's not very encouraging. Where do you get to the land from, or about how far from some landmark, like downtown?
Would it be able to be trailblazed with an ATV, or is it too rough even for that?
I guess on a good note, it may see very little hunting pressure!

Thanks!
