Considering upgrading to a hydraulic jack plate, in place of my manual slide master. Do you guys running these things think its worth the money to upgrade? I got a quote for $2700 for a 10” Atlas, gauges, and dual trim switch, installed. Can anyone recommend somebody who installed there’s here in town?

I can tell you that it is one of the most important things on my boat...I do not know anybody in town there but they are not hard to install.

Its a good way to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your boat. Some boats will benefit more from it than others. They are also extremely nice to have in shallow water. You have to be the one that decides if the benefits out weigh the initial expense. The price you were quoted seems a little high. The plate will be between 1100 and 1300 and another 250 or 300 for the gauge kit and dual trim. I would also look at a Bob’s Action Jack, they will be in same ballpark on price as the Atlas.

Tom at Fish-N-Fun can certainly install for you. I've owned both Bob's and now Atlas. I like the Atlas more due to the fact that it needs no lubrication.

Absolutely worth every penny. Any dealer or marine center will be able to install it for you. Agree w/ others - the price you were quoted is high. I run an Atlas 10" on my sled.

Sent you a PM.

as previously stated, worth it, not that hard or expensive.

if youre gonna do it, go 12" the further back you put the prop, the cleaner the water and better bite= better performance

Keep an eye on your water pressure if you don't have low water pickups in the gear case. It is nice to be able to raise it up at speed and zip across a flat without worrying about running a ground. It is also nice to take off in shallow water without worrying about hitting bottom.
