I Don't Understand

I would really like to be able to thin the ranks of the elected officials. WE THE PEOPLE need to take back the country from the repubs and democrats who are filling their pockets instead of caring for the people that elected them. The TN waltz sting was just a drop in the bucket to what is going on in Washington. We the people would get fired from our jobs if we performed as poorly. We need to do the same thing to the people we elect. The people who put up red light and speed cams need to be voted out as well. I can wait to go fishing.

Here is what bothers me so much. Let's say, someone says it's a good idea to jump off of a cliff. Another person says, don't do it! This is how I feel on a lot of issues. There is such strong disagreement on issues in Congress. If it's a really great idea, shouldn't about everyone agree? Don't jump off the cliff. I get concerned that some of the bills and legislation being passed are equated to "jumping off the cliff."

When a politician makes a promise, or campain promise, make him put it in writing. If he breaks that promise, he must step aside....immediately.
Hey possum, meet at the dock at 6AM, I'll bring my boat. I don't show up..mmm
Next week I do the same and then again. SO, what do you think about me now?...Aww, that's Ok, I'm sorry, some bankers and a Sheik called, lets do it again next month...I still don't show up...Are you going to keep falling for my promise?? When is enough enough??
That's Ok, I've got a fancy boat, all the food and drink you could ever want...next time I'll guarantee you a 18 lb large mouth, 11 lb smallie, and we go, and I produce what I said I would. Oh by the way I'm running for Senate, how about that vote?? Im your hero, ain't I.

but what if they want to make good on the promise and does everything in their power (which is limited by others) but still cant deliver the promise and keeps on trying to deliver the promise when said promise keeps being criticized by others

I think the cliff analogy mentioned is THE perfect analogy for politics in this day and age well spoken!!

oggism, I certainly hope that you are completely satisfied with your vote. You mention bi-partisenship. Have you seen any of that yet? Doing dirty deeds behind closed doors....ain't rally reaching accross any aisles...is it? Take the $100 million BRIBE to Nebraska for the healthcare vote, guess who gets to foot that bill?

to answer your question no I havent seen any bi-partisenship have seen a lot of negativity and not a lot of uniting together as Americans and support our elected officials heck even our elected officials dont support each other which is kind of sad. But such is life I have no control or say what goes on in Washington or even city, county, and state politics so I will live my life for today and worry about those around me and do my best to pick my brother/sister up when they are down and try to always practice random acts of kindness and sensless acts of beauty. Wouldnt this country be a better place if EVERYONE did this together?

If I hire you to do a job and you do not produce, what should I do?? Keep you on my payroll because you are called a politician or fire you.
Believe me brother, I have hired and fired a lot of people

As have I but if the tools are not provided to do the job its like your working with nail guns and long straight 2x4s but you expect another person to do the same job with bubble gum and saw dust how can they be held accountable?

Well, I went on vacation for a few days with no computer access and have just read the responses on this thread. What I find most interesting is that the most vocal democratic posters on this site have said nothing (with the exception of one, and that didn't seem to go over too well for him).

LET ME EXPLAIN THIS, I'M INDEPENDENT!!!! So don't pass judgement on me when I say how could you vote Republican???? The "conservative party" suppose to be conservative, then how did they run up the biggest National deficit in the history of our country... Democrats aren't the supreme party out there, but Republicans want to make the "Good ol'buddies" rich and they don't care whose feet or country they stomp on to do it.... Democrats want to pass out all the money to the rich and poor, these days and say hell with the Middle Class....
GREED and corruption has taken control of this country and there is no one out there to stop it.... How do you become Politician, by doing favors for others, so you have the right to become one... When they are the Congressman, Senator or President, who are they going to return their favors too.... The same people that got them elected in the first place... Both parties aren't for the people anymore, they are out for the Group they represent....
