In the market for a new reel

I really like the lews , I have three of them.Got one set up on a ghost rod, it is the one I use the most.

I have several lews in various models. My last one was the BB1. It feels great but casting that thing is an art. I can pick up any reel I have and throw it in any weather but that BB1 will backlash with the slightest breeze. I haven't had it that long so maybe I can get it dialed in but right now I hate to pick it up. My favorite reels so far has been the Johnny Morris sig series I bought off ebay for 75 bucks. My second favorite is the chronoarch and third the $99 model lews... Not the 180 Lews.

I have been bidding on another JM sig series when I see a good looking one on eBay.

So now I am getting some mixed reviews from the lews. It seems that you either love them or hate them. I was talking to a buddy at work and he said he has one and was not impressed and it sits in his rod locker. Of course he is a big revo fan. Either way I will continue to research. Does anyone have any experience with the JM sig series. I have really been a fan of the pro qualifiers and am wondering if the JM's are worth the extra money.

If my post above lead you to believe I do not like Lews then I messed up... I love the Lews reels. I have struggled with the BB1 model... the others have been great. The BB1 is supposed to have a very free spool and cast a mile... It will cast a mile but it may backlash every other cast. I know there is probably a way to get it dialed in but I haven't mastered it yet.

As for the JM Sig Series... I took a chance on a nice used one off Ebay and it is now my favorite reel... Will buy another one... I only have around $75 bucks shipped.

Hook1 - 3/17/2015 7:24 AM Once you go Lew's you'll never go back! The Tournament MG series are killer reels for the money. I have 7 TS1HMG models and would buy another 7 now if I had the money.

My opinion exactly! Revo's are great, Pro qualifiers are great, but this lews's reel is the deal! It has three different brake adjustments. It holds more line than most of the reels. It goes on sale at academy for 69.95 pretty often and that is a steal for sure!

If I am not mistaken the Lews reel at Academy is special made for them with more ball bearings than the regular model. At least someone told me that :) I love that reel... it is the best bang for the buck I have found. Wish I had saved my money on the BB1 and got 2 of those.

My 6 year old Revo Premiers are smoother and quieter than the brand new BB1 I have.

I bought a BPS Signature Series reel and, though I have yet to use it, it feels solid and very smooth.

Which model would that be Blue? I haven't seen one at Academy that is not available anywhere else............

TLZ1SH is the model I was told was made only for Academy. I never checked that out to be sure. Just what I was told.

Well, I ended up getting the Revo SX and the JM sig series. No one had a 7:1 for the Revo in the lefty model so I ordered it on basspro and noticed that the JM sig series was on sale so I went ahead and got both as a birthday present to myself. Thank you all for the input.
