Congratulations Churly!. I have 2 grown girls and there are just two pieces of advice I can offer. First and foremost start her off in church as soon as you can and take her every time the doors open. Secondly spend every second you can with her. She will be grown and gone before you know it.

Congrats Churly!!

My boy is 8 months old. He is my first. My advice is a little different. You will love your girl so much more than you can even begin to understand right now so that part will be easy.

You will want to pay close attention you your wife while she is pregnant and after the baby is born. Cause it's her first time too and it can be a very stressful experience for a woman. Also once the baby is born everybody will want to get their turn touching and holding her. You will need to always have your woman's back if she don't want someone holding the baby. It really will amaze you at the people that will want to hold your baby and don't mind asking you. Just remember that you are her only line of defence, and you wouldn't want to be passed around from person to person.
Also baby wipes and diapers. go ahead and start buying some everytime you go to walmart. Just don't get the same size every time cause it will amaze you how fast they out grow them. Good luck bro!
CW.

Thanks for all the great advice guys, it makes me feel at ease to hear all of your experiences and I am really looking forward to all that goes with it. She's due in mid January, so I am trying to really rellish my last fishing and deer season. I know next year I will be busy raising her. The next problem I have is where to put all my taxidermy-the man cave is getting transformed into a nursery in short order!

You ain't gonna quit hunting and fishing. What you'll do now is pay more attention to detail and actually get better cause you'll be a dad and you know that you're going to have to pass this info along to her one day so it better be the right info.
