Like many folks on CFF, I often frequent Jack's Bait & Tackle Shop.

Most know that, sadly, Jack passed away a while back but his daughter, Kim Gossard-Trotter, is working hard to keep her father's legacy alive. They were having a tough time coming up with large live shiners for a while. But Kim tells me that she's found a new source for live bait and has an excellent supply of Saltys and jumbo shiners. She says, "The Saltys are great for catfishing."

I'm proud to do my best to support our area "Mom & Pop" bait & tackle shops. The "big box" stores are great, but nothing beats the personal service of a great bait shop. Please check out Jack's at 4228 Bonny Oaks Dr.

Never knew the place existed. If they have good crappie minnows and early hours I could become a regular. Thanks for the info.

More like 6am and yes, Jack was a great guy and his tuffies actually live longer than 1-2 hours unlike another bait shop in that area.
