I've been offered a backseat this Saturday and this very gracious person is wanting to try jigging spoons.

While I've heard their praise on here a few times, I've mostly been a bank fisherman so there are 0 spoons in my tackle box. I've never tried one. So.. this leads me to some questions as I am very interested in trying this technique.

First and foremost, is this something I can pick up at Wallyworld? Is there a better place to go to get them?
From what I've read in some e-zines, it seems the 3/4 size is the best for the current water temps. Agree or disagree?
Due to the stained water of Chick, should I be looking for painted spoons or metallic? If colors, what colors?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I am not sure if you can buy them at wall mart I use mostly the silver colored ones I buy mine a soddy custom Tackel or Chattanooga Fishin and Fun

I bought my spoons at WallyWorld. I got the Kastaway 3 pack. It's around $4. It has 1 silver, 1 gold, and 1 silver/blue. I know some people prefer the Cotton Cordell. Sportsmans usually has a pretty good display.

If your going with MW, you need the Cotton Cordel jigging sppons. They come in 1/4, 3/8 & 3/4oz in gold and silver. Most use the silver. Sportsmans carries them now, but a Whiskard feller cleans them out most every shipment they get.

Smokey Mt Tackle started carrying them for CFF'ers and they are a site sponsor. PLease buy from them if you can get up there! Hope that helps. BTW, Wally does NOT carry the CC spoons. </p>

This is true!

But a man offers you a backseat, refuses gas money, then offers to cover your lures...

Well, all I can say is I just love the people I've met on this site.

MrW, You offer is outstanding, but due to the loss rate I think spooning cover will cause, I believe I'm going to find a few before we go. However if I lose 'em all and they are the hot bait, I may have to try to buy a few off of you.

Also, I just wanted to say that my username is Double B.. NOT Double D

DoubleB is because my name is Robb, Double D has a completely different connotation and I wanted to make sure no one was confused. I'd hate for my inbox to fill up over that!
