Billy and I decided to go below Nick Dam to catch skippies. They were running thick. Thanks to EricM for the report. We went boatless and fished from the pier a little downstream from the dam and loaded up on about 20 skippies or so. Billy caught more than me - it won't happen next time - ha! We caught the skips on foley spoons. If you are wanting to get catfish bait, then head down to Nick Dam. If you see fish skipping out of the water then throw a spoon out and you should hook into them.

wow big are the skipjacks. I was thinking about catching some and freezing them to use of the pier in the gulf

Several in in the 8"-12" range

You can do alot better if you take a boat. They was jumping good out in the middle.

yea I have caught bait in the gulf with sabikis plenty of times. need to go down there I guess.
