Got on the water today about 3 and fished until 7. I got on a very consistent drop shot bite today. emoTongue They were holding about 30 foot deep on a ledge in the main river. Had a couple very nice ones including one 3 lb spot. That fish would have been worth $180.00 this past weekend in the CBA. I did the drop shot for a couple hours and boated around 20 bass. I bet I lost another 10. emoAngry They would barely take it and the rod would just load up. I shifted at five to a blade working the river edges where there was deep bends and drops. Let it fall to a ten count and then started reeling. I boated several doing this with the best one 2.5 lbs. At six I shifted again to a spook shallow bite from 2 to 5 feet. Really had some great blow ups. Best one doing this was a great looking female that still had eggs in her. She tipped the scales to a solid 4+ lber. emoThumbsup Had a couple more 3s and 2s. My best five today would have been around the 15 lb mark. I think I boated somewhere around 35 bass today. That is better then what I have been doing lately.

I never noticed the water temp. All fish caught on either a blade, drop shot or a spook. emoBigsmile I just love it when the top water bite turns on. Fish came from 2 foot to 33 feet. All areas along the main river. I left at 7:00.

C-ya out there. emoAngler Jmax

Sounds good. I am looking forward to tomorrow. You will need to show me how to drop shot.

LOL, I will be glad to give you a drop-shot lesson today. emoBigsmile I knew those bass that were spawning out would be going deep soon but in the six years I have fished the Chick I think this is the earliest I have seen them move deep. emoScratch As I mentioned before this year can be described in one sentence,"The only thing consistent is inconsistency." Right now they are still all over the place. Some seemed totally spawned and in a post spawn pattern and some are on beds right now. I believe the back water bass are mostly spawned out. The river bass being in water that was cooler are doing it now. emoSmile Jmax
