Jmax, Chick, Bass, catfish and bream, 04/30/11, Beetlespin, Coca Cola benefit tournament,
Standing at the big board looking at the results we were in sixth place. emoSmile I thought surely that could not be....they were paying six places. emoThumbsup We would actually get a check. My normal place of first out of the money was about to be broken. Churly walked up and asked how did we do? I told him something was wrong cuase we were about to get a check and my place is first out of the money. emoCrazy About that time the guy on stage asked was there any more fish....could this be it? Then he said it...I knew it was coming....he said that one of the guys that had been helping with the weigh in was getting his so he had to wait to call it. emoBooHoo I told Churly and those in hearing distance, "There is it, he will have over 16.33 lbs...you just watch....I will be first out of the money just wait." Like calling a stacked bet....17...something came out over the speakers. emoBadLanguage My normal place...first out.
Yep, I have found my old place again. That makes four in a row at first out of the money. The Action Alarms work tournament, the last Tuesday night dog fight, the last CFF and now this one. emoDoh Well, it could be worse. We had severth place with 37 boats. I caught one just a hair shy of 5 lbs, BS had one a hair shy of 4 lbs. Problem was the other three weighed about 7.5 togather. BS lost one good one that we saw pushing about 4.5 lbs which would have got us up to 18 and some change for a check but he had it on a trap and it threw it. emoBawl We had a good day, lots of fish came into the boat. emoThumbsup I am going to guess well over 30 bass with at least three limits. We just could not upgrade that much. An oz here and there was it. The first three keepers came on a shakey and then BS caught a couple on cranks. Then the 5er on a....can you guess?....a SPOOK! Crushed it! Came completely out of the water. That one strike was worth the ticket. emoWorthy Lots of shad activity and really cannot complain. BS was a good partner today.... emoThumbsup yea he truely was...he only fussed at me a few times. emoBigsmile He also caught a bream and a catfish.
23 something won it, then a 20 and a half, then Churly and partner at 19 something, then Billie and Danny at 18 something, then two 17 somethings and then there was us at 16.33 lbs.
Thanks for the ride and good times Lance, emoToast Jmax
