Decided when I walked out this morning at 5 a.m. to let the dog out it was just too nice not to go and try to stretch a line. Glad I did. Got there about 6:30 this morning and fished until noon. It was a really nice morning. A little humid but with a slight breeze it was not all that bad until about 11:00 when the sun broke out and it started getting hot. emoSun I am not sure why the bass were munching this morning but they were feeding and hitting better then I have seen them in months. Fished deep and focused on the depths of 15 to 25 feet. Find the shad and you found the bass. Lots of whites and yellows mixed in with them. May have been the drop in the temp or maybe the rain we got here yesterday. emoScratch

Boated at least three limits of bass this morning. Also had about three times that many whites and yellow bass. A really good catching morning. I caught bass on three baits, a shakey, a crank and a swim. It might be worth mentioning that those are the only baits I threw. emoTongue I lost one big girl I saw that jumps twice on me and half way back just came unbuttoned. emoAngry She looked like another five or maybe six. I also had one on the shakey that also felt big but bull dogged on me right after setting the hook and it came off too. emoDoh Still managed to put a bunch in the boat as well. Best five were a 5 even, a 4/11, a 3/13, 3/12 and a 3/10, for right at 21 lbs. emoDance I also would have culled a 3/8, a 3/6, a 3/2 and a 3/1. Those are the ones I weighed. I also had a bunch of two pounders. Not bad for a five and a half hour trip.

Those bass today were upchucking shad and pooping all over my boat. emoMad For sure in a feeding mood. I took a bunch of pictures for those who say it is just a story without them. I think these were the top five. Taking them like this they never do them justice. See you out there. emoAngler Jmax

Nice report, saw you out there middle of last week. I was tempted to swing by and say hello but didn't want to intrude. Plus on that day, I saw you buzz by 3 or 4 different times. I'm thinking you didn't stay on any one spot too long.

Looks like another great day on the water for you Jim. We really do appreciate your detailed reports. They just might help us less than great bass anglers catch a few.
