Took the grandkids jug fishing below the dam last night. Caught some shad below the rr bridge(Thanks to someone on the forum who said they could be caught there.) Also used some of Muskrats secret formula hotsdogs(given to me by drumking) Believe the cutbait outproformed the dogs though... Caught 12 catfish weighing over 120#s! The largest was 28# 4oz. There was a full moon (?) and it was HOT! Water temp was almost 87 degrees! Needless to say the grandkids(and their parents had a great time) Gonna try and add some pics, not sure how to do this.

Way to go, Tracker! Let's get together in the fall and chase some stripers. What say ye?emoGeezer

Could someone help me? If you drift down from the boils of the turbines, are you going to get into rocks? How far down do you drift, what bait and any other information that will help.
PM me if you would please

Most people just drift down to about the train bridge and then just start the engine back up and go back. I see most people using cut shad for bait,or threadfin if they are big enough.

Fishing machine, If the water is down you will see anywhere from 4-6 ft drifting prior to the RR bridge. The rockpile extends downstream so it gets even shallower in that area I have read 2ft at times crossing over it. I have bumped rocks once just below the RR bridge downstream from the rockpile but always going very slow.
I never approach at high speeds.

Great pics Tracker!!! You got them kids hooked for life! I know for sure, fishing kept me out of alot of trouble through those turbulent teenage years, and still is, heck I'm only 24 :) :) and its still keeping me out of trouble! :)

I give up! My computer is attacking up, and won't let me download them into a postable file. Will try again later sorry :(

from the river channel towards the school side don't ever go between the first two concrete supports.... real shallow there. Several years ago the County Patrol boat went thru there and lost the lower unit.... brand new boat.. driver did not know what was there....

Fat Albert .. you do that again .. and I won't be surprised!!! How's our rod coming for the picnic?

Tracker .. how long did you leave the jugs out before you got all those fish?

We fished from 9 till about 12:30 T.T. We put the jugs in just above the CBR bridge. We had fish on within 30 min. We picked up the smaller fish first. The fish just kept getting bigger and bigger! We ended our first drift down about the Rivermont ramp. We picked up the jugs and went back for more. This drift we let them go way down river. I tried to get them to leave about 11pm. I almost had a mutiny on my boat! I finally prevailed around midnite and we began to collect the jugs. We were still catching fish as we took up the jugs!

Man I've seen jugs floating over in my swimming hole and always thought that was a pretty stupid place for jugs because the water isn't that awfully deep and the cove is dead end! I was always tempted to go over and check them out when I'm swimming with the girls but thought if I was checking them out and the person who put them out came by and saw me .. I'd get shot or something.

BUT I have to say ... it sounds like a pretty fun and funky way to fish! I've got to try it sometime.
