I had a rather interesting trip to the park Sat. and I was wondering who owns the lake bordering the park. I had been hitting ball off and on this spring at the field and noticed the gate had been open and seen people going in with fishing rods on more thatn one occasion. I had fished there before years ago and I thought that since the gate was open it was open for fishing. I had some time to kill so I go to the park and figure I would fish a little while. I no more than make 2-3 casts when I see a gentleman with a rifle approaching me....... He says the lake has been bought and we don't allow no fishing. I didn't find it in me to question him so I gladly packed up and left. I noticed on the way out there were 2 beaver carcasses and a racoon laying in the ballfield parking lot, hopefully this was the reason he was packing. Now I may be wrong but isn't the park owned by the county? I am definately wanting to know.

The park down past oak grove school (durkee rd), "stay outta my lake". I had to do that, but in all honesty the lake is owned by an individual, the county owns about 20 feet from it.

thats the one i thought it was. it is owned an individual who recieved it in his grandfathers will and has just recently
moved onto the property. my understanding is the house had been unoccupied for a period of time and people
trashed the ponds with no one around.
