This is really late, sorry, but these are the 2 bucks I was lucky enough to shoot the opening weekend of Bow Season. I shot the 8 point on Saturday around 1245 and the 9 point on Sunday around 1845. Both from the same tree stand. The 9 point was the mature buck of the group, approximately 6-7 years old. He was a 10 point with 3 kickers last year. These were the only 2 bucks I was planning on taken this year from the property. I watched them all summer on trail cams and with binos in the feilds. I kind of finished off my season early...as soon as it started. Wont argue with it, probably wont happen again, just need to take a few does out of there now.

Rut seems to be kicking in at my place. But the weather wont allow me to hunt like I like to. We had insane winds Saturday. I heard a chase Sat. morning before daylight and the doe ran up to 20 yards from me before running up the point where the buck followed her. Never saw him, just heard him bellowing as he went. Didnt see another deer until the last hour of daylight. All of the sudden out of nowhere I had a 6 and a 4 behind me fighting like crazy. It was pretty fun to watch them, they seemed evenly matched and fought from the minute I saw them until I slipped off the backside of the hill after sundown, and I still hear them going at it. Sunday I rode the wind for about 3 hours before throwing in the towel. Didnt see a deer. I hope this weather would get right, so I could get a shot at what we know is up there. Huge tracks in the plots and mega rubs tell the tale! I would imagine peak breeding will be taking place in the next 2 weeks. Good luck to all!
