I have a 99 Ficht 200. Noticed last weekend it was sluggish out of the hole, then noticed could not get but 4800 to 4900 rpms wide open. I had new plugs. and compression test was good. Wondering what else it could be. Bad fuel ? Does it need de carbing ? I'm sure I can get some good advice from someone. I know the best advice would be to hang something else on the back, but that is not within reason because I have son fixing to start college.

Mine was doing basically the same thing. Come to find out, I had 2 bad triggers on the stator. I was running on 4 cylinders. Had them replaced and good as new.

Cannot get picture to resize small enough. My 175, 1998 ficht was doing the exact same thing as yours and running about the same rpm range. My stator was burnt up.

Don't think it is the tach speed is down also. I've talk to Franklin and Glen Gamble both said they have never heard or put a new stator on a ficht motor. Still waiting on them to get time to put it on the computer. Think I will go ahead and decarb the motor this weekend. Also fresh non ethanol gas and seafoam. Nothing to loose at this point.

If you are like me and you keep adding fishing tackle to your boat, without removing some tackle, the added weight might be the problem. I empty my boat out twice a year and it amazes me how much tackle is in the boat.

Excellentidea. I am a firm believer of Non-ethanolfuelsand Marine Sta-bil added</p>

picture of my stator that came off of my 175 1998 ficht. It would run good straight off the trailor, then it would run about 4500 rpm at wot. or would not plain out. I called every boat shop around for information befor I tore it down and no one would tell me anything.

Just an update. Lucky for me turns out that the throttle linkage had viberated loose on the #5 intake and at above 3000 rpms was closing back up half way. Thanks to Outboard Doc for a quick and cheap fix.
