Hey guys, we are thinking of relocation to Tellico Villages. Can anyone give me some information on fishing near there? Any other information about the area and Tennessie would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies all.

Good place, you can fish in your back yard on the river. emoTongue Thought about moving there myself. Still have not completely ruled it out. Know some folks who do live there and they love it. A little out from the main cities but you don't have to deal with all the traffic either. It has it's goods and bad sides of being where it is. I have looked at a couple homes there and you can get a pretty nice place for your buck. emoThumbsup Jmax

Jmax's comments are right on the mark. I live in west Knoxville and fish Tellico and the village area a lot. In addition to Tellico, you will have easy access to Ft. Loudon and Watts Bar. In addition, Melton Hill, Chickamauga, Douglas, Cherokee, and Norris are 1-2 hours drive time. You will have PLENTY of fishing opportunities. Plenty of shopping and other amenities within 30-45 minute drive. The Village is a nice place, IMO. Best of luck with your decision.

I work in there all time, hardly anyone ever fishing the area, more of a recreation lake than a fishing lake. I grew up fishing tellico but further upstream, clear water and can be pretty tough for bass. Crappie fishing is good to excellent year round. Striper and walleye will bite also. most folks that live in tellico village are retired and from a much colder climate. Not saying that's a negative, just giving you demographics for your future neighbors

East Tn. is a great place to live. If you move to Tellico village you are within an hour's drive of all kinds of activities, hiking, sight seeing, shopping and fishing. We have rivers, lakes and streams for any type of fishing. Tellico lake can be tough for Bass but cloudy, windy, rainy overcast days it can be great or at night. The river below Fort Loudon Dam can be fun to fish also.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I am one of those retired guys??? Fished tournaments for years then drag raced my "fishing" Allison for several years. Now just want to enjoy going out to the boat (in front of the house) doing some fun fishing and come back and play pickleball before Happy Hour!!! Thanks again guys.

Sounds like you've found the right place, pal. Another plus, the Ally plant is just across the river in case you get the urge to upgrade. Good luck with your house hunting.

And if you get bored and want to give your arms a work out, you can run up to the swift water below Ft. Loudon dam and hook up to those stripes. And not to far from trout fishing either.

pppickle ball capitol of Tn .....probably a dozen courts and bunch of players !!

I live on the poor folks side of the hill from Tellico Village.....pickleball is a big deal . 3 great ramps in the TV and 5 minute run to Ft.Loudon dam in an Ally...maybe less !!. Tellico gets muddy in the main channel maybe twice a year....no kidding ! But if you work it over you can find some pretty good fish usually. Watts Bar Loudon Melton Hill(muskie) within15 minutes of TV.

I like Middle Valley in Hixson. Close to all the ammenities and I'm only a few miles to major ramps. After 22 years in the Ozarks boonies, its good to be back in society, lol. I'd consider "how far is the nearest Wal Mart!? Good Luck!

Snuffy or Carl Guffey knows every inch of those waters. Get em to give you a tour sometime.

Everything sure sounds good guys. Headed there end of month to hopefully get a lot and start building. Most all of resale homes are just to darn big for us. Want to make sure I have lifts on both boat slips. Anxious to start. Pickleball is nuts here in Surprise Az. Developments can't build courts fast enough. Looking forward to possibly hookin up with some of you. Thanks all for taking time to post info. Much appreciated. Happy New Year.

Great place to live but Tellico/Ft Loudon are the worst lakes in the entire Tennessee River system.

I have heard the same. Thats why I haven't trailered over there to fish.
