Had some great action today on Big G with a couple of consistent patterns. We started out with Choo Choo Shakers and was able to catch several quality fish in 2-4 ft. of grass. We then movede out to some deeper 8-10 ft. of grass with Producer Swimbaits and got into a few more solid fish. The highlight of the day was pulling up on one small patch of grass and we doubled up on a couple of quality fish on a Shaker. This gentleman is now a true believer in what a Choo Choo Shaker can do compared to another brand the he started out with. Not mentioning the name of the chatterbait that he was using, but for $16 you would think it would have some tremendous vibration and at the least be able to fish around Primrose and Lily Pad stems and not get hung up, "constantly"! I don't ever make a post about any other lure brands that I don't use, but when I seen this one today and the price he paid for it, I thought I might just put my 2 cents in on this one. The vibration of his $16 chatterbait compared to a Shaker, well to me, and now him, and several others over the past few years that I've introduced to a Shaker, THERE'S NO COMPARISON! Please don't take my word for it, but like the gentleman from today that had heard about Choo Choo Shakers but instead decided to try a $16 version instead because it's suppose to be "the best", try it out and check for yourself the difference in the vibration, the performance, and the QUALITY of a Shaker. I don't think, well I know you "WILL NOT" be dissapointed. I've seen several clients over the years that like their brand of chatterbaits and I don't voice my opinion until they see the results from the performance of a Shaker, and then at that time they start digging in my box looking for one for themselves. A $16 chatterbait that you can't use around thick grass, around lily pad stems, and around logs and laydowns? I know..."It's the NAME"! Get out and have some fun! Mike Carter

Mike your not doing your guide business any favors by bashing one product and praising your own.

Yes you are mike your doing an incredible job not only promoting an incredible brand but not calling out one that doesn’t measure up keep on doing your thing mike

Promoting the brand that gives him free baits is a biased opinion. If not this its crying about the bow fishermen.

The lousy bow fisherman that shoot bedding bass or the ones that leave the boat ramps littered with carp? He works hard for his sponsors JA and heck yeah anyone in their right mind would promote those that sponsor not going to go back and forth with you but feel free to call me and discuss this further sounds like your the one crying maybe you just can’t get any sponsorship don’t get jealous get better

I turned on the tv and dang couldn’t believe it I was watching a fishing show and Kevin van dam was talking about how good strike king was! Now that just pisses me off to watch this pro talk about how good strike king was and the action and didn’t promote any of his competition baits! The nerve!!!!!!!! Oh wait never mind it’s called promoting your sponsors

Just want to put my thoughts into this and I will begin saying that when I bought this company 3 years ago I told the owner that I would not change anything that he had worked so hard to perfect. Mike Carter was one of those things I did not want to change becuase I know that to be a good company you need good salesmen and he far exceeds that. It is good to know that he is loyal to my company and for those that think he gets free baits, you better guess again because he works his but off promoting my baits and could not be more happy. If you ever try my baits you will understand why so many people like them, because I have been throwing his spinner baits for over 20 years and never fished any other,it is the only spinner bait I have found that tracks true even after catching numbers of bass. I have never had one break on me,not saying they want but I never had. I found out that he had all types of baits and never new he had shakers and when I bought the company a company patened the way the blade attached to the eye of the hook and did not like the style that was offered to me to make bladed jigs.As for Mike Carter as the one that I turned to to ask how he wanted a bladed jig to work and he explained what he needed it to do so I started thinking how can I make a bait that comes through grass, primrose, logs and brush and still catch fish. I always say I would rather be lucky than good and my first attempt I produced the bladed jig and named it The Custom Carter Shaker. I want to thank Mike for what he does in promoting my custom baits and if you have never tried them pick up some and you will never go back to what you were fishing. One other thing also, a company made it big at I-Cast last year with a bladed jig that had a weed gaurd, just to let everyone know choochoolures has had a weed gaurd on bladed jig for years, tried keeping it a secret so now I put pictures up on web site showing one with and without. If you want to know what seperates my shaker from all others go to my web site and watch the underwater footage and listen to the sounds it makes when fishing it,
Again thanks Mike Carter

no, i got your point. i just value Mr Carter's opinion more than yours. i think his expertise in the area gives him the credentials to be critical of another product.

I never asked if you valued my opinion Rusty. Mike is a crybaby and a called him out on it. No sense in getting upset. This isn't his first time crying. No angler this has legitimate sponsorship is going to bash another product publicly. End of story.

because its not politically correct to state a professional, experienced opinion on the performance of like products? ok emoScratch for the record, i dont know Mr Carter, have never met him but i know his credentials and have looked at his on the water experience and tournament results. when anyone with his credentials chooses to express their opinion about a product, it has merit.

i think your personal issues with Mr Carter are quite evident.

its ok, you can continue to buy the jackhammer, its a bait that a lot folks use and catch fish on.

Mike, a lot of us really appreciate your reports and look forward to them....Keep up the good work.

I agree with the above. I didn't get the impression that the OP was "bashing" another product. Sharing information is a large part of this forum. Thanks to all who have and continue to share good information here.

Guys I have never bought a Shaker or a Jackhammer. Only 2 chatterbaits I have thrown are the original Chatterbait and the Pure Poison. I'm done with talking about this. Everyone have a good weekend.
