This past week has been a great experience with Bass fishing. Not only were the Big fish turned on all week, but to even go to a different lake and still have big fish turn on was just fantastic. We had our last ABT Tournament on Logan Martin Lake yesterday and my partner and I were able to pull out a great and close 2nd. place finish with a 5 fish limit that weighed 19.99 lbs, and the 1st place weight was 20.13 lbs., so congratulations to the team of Butler and Tate. We also had 1st. place big fish with 7.68 lbs. I was able to get out on Thursday morning on Logan Martin and find these fish on a deep creek ledge and all I could do was hope they would hold up for us on Saturday. When we got to our meeting on Friday night we drew out boat number 191 out of 200 and things looked slim at that time about being able to get to our area without another boat being there, and to our surprise there were no boats in that area. When we shut the boat down on this ledge at 5:40 am we never cranked the boat back up until time to go weigh in, we had decided to stay on this spot all day and it paid off. We caught all of our fish on Zoom Speed worms and Choo Choo Lures 1/2 oz. jigs and only covered a 150 yd. stretch of this ledge that had the best cover, and even with the bites being very few, they were good quality bites. It's been a great year on this trail and now we have Smith Lake to look forward to for our Classic in October. Have fun and be safe, Mike Carter www.anglingadventures.info
