HL&S.... I don't think anyone removed your post.  I think it was a glitch in the system.  At times I have "submitted" my reply and it has not been captured.  The owners are working to get the glitches out now.  They have been working with our Sponsers upto now, if you will notice the new shiney banners!

I've often hit the "submit" button and blankly watched as my pc and the CFF server took a break to plot a course to Pluto. My post was captured as I read it after it showed on the thread. My first thoughts were it would have had to be deleted after making it that far.

All is well and I hope this event draws a large turnout and CFF members once again can show what has always made this site so "special".

Ive lived in Pa, WV, and Fla. Ive seen less garbage in our waters here than any of those states.. rivers there have a whole lot more than I see here ... when I moved here . I was blown away how clean the river was compared to those in WV and PA..
But any amount of trash is too much.. Riverbend festival is a sea of cans and bottles floating down the river.. last year I netted over 300 bottles and cans from other boaters at the fireworks show

I grew up on Anderson Ridge about 2 minutes from Shellmound Park. Count me in on any help you may need. I went to Richard Hardy school and my wife went to Marion County if you might want to get some schools involved. I work for the USACE at Nickajack Dam so I spend almost everyday of my life on a river somewhere and see flotsam/trash all the time. Apathy starts in youth, so you should try and get the kids involved. I also play in a local christian rock band and could possibly get a few church youth groups involved. Just PM me.

sounds like a plan. When duck hunting at harison bay this year i could not believe all the garbage! Even out on the islands. My chocolate lab has had two sets of stitches in his pad over the last couple years due to broken beer bottles on shore. I was down on the north side of chickamauga dam last week, and it is unbelievable there too! Count me in as well.

My wife and I would like to help. One note though is the best cleanup I saw was when Michigan passed the law requiring deposits/refunds on bottles & cans. Litter seemed to be cut drastically. When growing up in Minnesota, we had no noticeable problem and a recent visit showed their still cleaner than here.
